HEARING INSTRUMENT COMPRISING SWITCHED CAPACITOR DC-DC CONVERTER
The present disclosure relates to a hearing instrument comprising a rechargeable battery source providing a battery supply voltage and a switched capacitor DC-DC converter comprising a DC input coupled to the battery supply voltage for converting the battery supply voltage into a higher or lower DC output voltage. The hearing instrument comprises at least one active circuit connected to the DC output voltage for energizing active components of the at least one active circuit.
Alternate stimulation strategies for perception of speech
A system, including a first prosthetic device configured to evoke a hearing percept based on a first ambient sound and a second non-invasive device configured to stimulate skin based on a second ambient sound generated by a voice.
Signal Amplifier
A hearing prosthesis circuit includes a power source, a first amplifier coupled to the power source, and a second amplifier coupled to the power source. The circuit also includes a stimulation component coupled to the first amplifier and the second amplifier. The stimulation component is configured to provide an output in accordance with an electrical signal that includes audio data. Further, the circuit includes a controller coupled to the first amplifier and the second amplifier. The controller is operable in accordance with a first operational setting to use the first amplifier to provide the electrical signal to the stimulation component and the controller is also operable in accordance with a second operational setting to use the second amplifier to provide the electrical signal to the stimulation component. Generally, the first amplifier provides greater signal amplification of the audio data than the second amplifier.
Hearing assistive device
A hearing assistive device is provided having a microphone, at least one audio signal processing mechanism, a vibration signal processing mechanism, and a vibrator. The audio signal processing mechanism receives an input audio signal from the microphone and generates a first output signal according to the received input audio signal wherein the first output signal coupled to a transducer that generates auditory perception in an ear of a user. The vibration signal processing mechanism receives the input audio signal and generates a second output signal according to the input audio signal. The vibrator is configured to be placed adjacent to the skin of the user, and configured to generate a vibration stimulation signal on the skin of the user according to the second output signal.
SOUND PROCESSOR APPARATUS WITH DUAL-MODE EARHOOK INTERFACE ASSEMBLY
An exemplary sound processor apparatus includes 1) an earhook interface assembly that includes a plurality of contacts and that is configured to interchangeably connect to a microphone assembly and an EAS receiver assembly by way of the plurality of contacts, and 2) a control module communicatively coupled to the plurality of contacts. In some examples, the control module uses the plurality of contacts as output ports to output one or more EAS signals to the EAS receiver assembly while the EAS receiver assembly is connected to the earhook interface assembly.
Sound processor apparatus with dual-mode earhook interface assembly
An exemplary sound processor apparatus includes 1) an earhook interface assembly that includes a plurality of contacts and that is configured to interchangeably connect to a microphone assembly and an EAS receiver assembly by way of the plurality of contacts, and 2) a control module communicatively coupled to the plurality of contacts and that is configured to selectively operate in an input mode or in an output mode. While operating in the input mode, the control module uses the plurality of contacts as input ports to receive one or more audio signals detected by the microphone assembly while the microphone assembly is connected to the earhook interface assembly. While operating in the output mode, the control module uses the plurality of contacts as output ports to output one or more EAS signals to the EAS receiver assembly while the EAS receiver assembly is connected to the earhook interface assembly.
HEARING AID COMPRISING A WIRELESS AUDIO RECEIVER AND AN OWN-VOICE DETECTOR
Disclosed herein are embodiments of hearing aids configured to be worn by a user which include an input gain controller configured to apply an input gain to an electric input signal at least when said hearing aid is in a wireless reception mode, where the input gain controller is configured to apply an input gain to said electric input signal of a) an own voice control signal and b) a type of audio transmitter.
