A treatment device system includes a treatment machine for performing a therapy on a patient, the treatment machine including at least one fluid conveyor and a controller, the controller having a first memory, to cause the at least one fluid conveyor to produce a therapeutic fluid by mixing purified water and at least one concentrate. The system also includes and a water purifier in fluid communication with and providing the purified water to the treatment machine. A wired or wireless control line provides two way communication between the controller of the treatment machine and the internal central controller of the water purifier, wherein the controller of the treatment machine transmits data via the control line to the internal central controller of the water purifier for control of the water purifier, the data provided based on at least one of the operator inputs received via the user interface.

A peritoneal dialysis system includes a water purifier, a cycler, and a disposable set operable with the cycler. The disposable set includes a pumping cassette including a water inlet port, a heater/mixing container in fluid communication with the pumping cassette, a water accumulator, a first water line segment, and a second water line segment. The first water line segment is in fluid communication with the water inlet port and the water accumulator. Additionally, the second water line segment is in fluid communication with the water accumulator and the water purifier.
Systems and methods for performing peritoneal dialysis
Systems and methods for providing multiple pass continuous flow dialysis are provided. In an embodiment, a system for providing peritoneal dialysis includes a catheter in communication with a peritoneal cavity, a fluid loop in fluid communication with the catheter and capable of circulating a therapy fluid into, through and out of the patient's peritoneal cavity, a multi-line fluid circuit, the multi-line fluid circuit in fluid communication with the fluid loop and including a bypass line coupled to a discharge fluid line, and a cycler including a plurality of valves, the cycler programmed to operate the plurality of valves to selectively (i) discharge therapy fluid from the multi-line fluid circuit via the discharge fluid line or (ii) bypass the discharge fluid line via the bypass line and circulate the therapy fluid a plurality of times through the fluid loop prior to exiting the multi-line fluid circuit via the discharge fluid line.
Peritoneal Dialysis Systems, Devices, and Methods
A medical treatment system includes a disposable fluid circuit that includes a water inlet and a batch container arranged to hold a mixture, the mixture including water that is received from the water inlet and at least one concentrate. The fluid circuit also includes a drain line for draining fluid from the disposable fluid circuit, and a configurable fluid pathway with a plurality of fluid lines, the configurable fluid pathway connecting the water inlet, the batch container, a source of the at least one concentrate, and the drain line. A source of purified water supplies the purified water to the water inlet and a sensor detects a property of fluid in the disposable fluid circuit. A controller controls flowing of a first fluid followed by displacement by a second fluid causing the first fluid to flow to the sensor.
PUMP SYSTEM, DIALYSIS MACHINE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING A PUMP
The present invention relates to a pump system for generating a volume flow of dialysis solution in a dialysis machine, wherein the pump system comprises at least one piston pump whose piston cooperates with a working fluid that in turn exerts force on a conveying means, in particular on a membrane, wherein setting means are provided by which the conveying volume of the piston pump per piston stroke can be reduced, with the setting means comprising a position-variable mechanical piston stop to reduce the piston stroke and/or means to reduce the quantity of the working fluid and/or means to reduce the volume of the conveying chamber that cooperates with the conveying means and that contains the dialysis solution to be conveyed.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE STATIC PATIENT PRESSURE
The present invention relates to an apparatus for determining the static patient pressure, wherein the apparatus comprises a pump in communication with a patient line for conveying a dialysis solution into the abdomen of the patient, and blocking means, in particular a valve by which the patient line is blockable, wherein the apparatus has a pressure chamber that is in fluid communication with the patient line with an open blocking element, with a pressure measurement device furthermore being provided that is arranged such that it measures the pressure in the pressure chamber or a pressure correlated with it; and wherein the apparatus comprises a control unit that is configured such that it effects a pressure build-up in the pressure chamber to a measurement pressure in a first step and opens the blocking element in a second step so that the patient line or a part section thereof is acted on by the measurement pressure of the pressure chamber and with the apparatus having an evaluation unit that evaluates the measured pressure after the opening of the blocking element.
FACILITATING CONNECTION OF HOME MEDICAL DEVICE TUBING
A tubing connection system is disclosed by which patients or others seeking to make connections between tubing sets, particularly for a home dialysis machine, can make those connections without having to hold each tube in each hand. In various implementations, the tubing connection device may include mechanisms for rectilinear and rotational motion to engage tubing connectors for connection between the tubing connectors as well as torque control features to prevent over-tightening. The system may also include automatically controlled gripping mechanisms to facilitate gripping of the tubing in connection with tubing connection operations. The system provides for facilitating a consistently secure connection of the tubing connectors.
Apparatus for performing peritoneal ultrafiltration
An apparatus for ultrafiltration of a patient being overhydrated due to congestive heart failure. The apparatus comprises a dilution syringe for removal of a portion of peritoneal fluid from the peritoneal cavity. A glucose bag comprises glucose concentrate at a concentration of 30%. A small amount of glucose concentrate is mixed with the dilution fluid in the dilution syringe in order to dilute the glucose concentrate to below 3% concentration. Then, the mixture is filled into the peritoneal cavity from the dilution syringe in order to replenish the glucose in the peritoneal cavity for maintaining a substantially constant glucose concentration in the peritoneal cavity. In addition, peritoneal fluid is intermittently removed from the peritoneal cavity for counteracting increased intraperitoneal fluid volume and increased intraperitoneal pressure due to ultrafiltration. A UF bag is arranged for receiving such surplus peritoneal fluid. A glucose syringe may be arranged for metering the glucose concentrate.
DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING ENHANCED FEATURES INCLUDING DRIP PREVENTION
A peritoneal dialysis (PD) system includes a housing, a PD fluid pump housed by the housing, and a reusable patient line extending from the housing. The reusable patient line includes a distal end configured to be connected to a patient line connector provided by the housing. The PD system also includes at least one reusable PD fluid line extending from the housing, the at least one reusable PD fluid line including a distal end configured to be connected to a PD fluid line connector provided by the housing. The PD system further includes a control unit configured to cause the PD fluid pump to apply a negative pressure to at least one of the reusable patient line or the at least one reusable PD fluid line when connected, respectively, to the patient line connector or the PD fluid line connector.
