METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE REQUIRED OR IDEAL LENGTH OF A CABLE IN A HEARING AID
20230034378 · 2023-02-02 ·

The use of the correct, required length of a cable in a hearing aid substantially contributes to the wearing comfort of the hearing aid. At least one ear depiction of an ear is created by a camera. An associated ear geometry is determined on the basis of the ear depiction. The required length of the cable for the hearing aid can in turn be determined by use of the ear geometry.

The application discloses an eartip, an earphone device, an earphone housing and a hearbud housing device. The eartip can include an outer portion, an inner portion, and an encapsulated volume formed by the inner and outer portion, wherein the outer portion is designed to contact the ear canal, and wherein the inner portion is designed to fit upon a stent. In an alternative embodiment, the airtip can include an inverted body, wherein when the inverted body is at least partially folded on itself the inverted body is arranged to include a bulbous region sized for insertion in an ear canal, a cavity internal to the bulbous region that holds a gas, where increasing pressure on the bulbous region releases a portion of the gas.

Ear-wearable device shell modeling

CABLE RETENTION FEATURES IN A CUSTOM-FITTED HEARING DEVICE SHELL
20230062085 · 2023-03-02 ·

An ear-wearable electronic device includes aa shell having a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of a user of the ear-wearable device. The device includes a mounting structure that is formed contiguously with the shell and intersects an inner surface of the shell. The mounting structure includes a mounting surface operable to fixably mount an interchangeable device to the shell. The mounting structure defines a void that extends from the inner surface to the outer surface of the shell. The mounting structure has a reference feature that is positioned relative to the outer surface of the shell such that the interchangeable device is located at a target orientation relative to the outer surface.

CABLE ALIGNMENT FEATURES IN A CUSTOM-FITTED HEARING DEVICE SHELL

An ear-wearable electronic device includes a shell with a cable retention slot. The cable entrance slot has an interior end and an exterior end. A bend surface extends from the exterior end of the cable retention slot to an exterior surface of the shell. The bend surface aligned with a crux of a user’s ear when the ear-wearable device is installed in an ear of the user’s ear. The shell may include a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of the user of the ear-wearable device.

FACEPLATE FOR A CUSTOM-FITTED HEARING DEVICE SHELL

An ear-wearable electronic device is housed within a shell. The shell includes an organically-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of a user of the ear-wearable device. The shell also has a faceplate void that has a curved and beveled perimeter edge. The faceplate void facilitates access to one or more devices installable into the shell. A faceplate is installed in the faceplate void. The faceplate has a beveled edge that mates with the perimeter edge. The faceplate includes an unbroken covering surface that matches the outer surface of the shell surrounding the faceplate void.
