Kink and compression tolerant medical tubing

Medical fluid tubing described herein is configured to be advantageously tolerant of kinking and/or crushing. That is, the tubing is configured such that even if the tubing is kinked or fully compressed at least some portion of the lumen defined by the tubing will remain open, and some fluid will continue to flow through the tubing. Such kink and compression tolerant medical tubing can be advantageously used in association with medical fluid pumping systems (e.g., peritoneal dialysis systems and the like). In some examples, the tubing described herein is used in conjunction with, or as a part of, a medical fluid cassette that interfaces with such medical fluid pumping systems.

Tube-docking holding device

A tube-docking holding device includes a first connector bracket and a second connector bracket. The first connector bracket includes two shells. When the two shells are closed, a first accommodation space is surrounded for fixing a portion of a first connector assembly of a catheter. The second connector bracket includes a base body and a cover body. The base body includes a first inner shell and a first outer shell. The cover body includes a second inner shell and a second outer shell. When the cover body and the base body are closed, the first inner shell and the second inner shell surround and define a second accommodation space for fixing a portion of a second connector assembly of a dialysate tube. An interconnected guiding space is formed between the first inner shell and the first outer shell and between the second inner shell and the second outer shell.

AUTOMATED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CUSTOMIZING DIALYSATE SOLUTIONS

An automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) device, system and method is provided, which utilizes mechanisms to admix customized dialysate solutions from multiple sources, while maximizing volumetric accuracy. The present automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) device can accomplish these goals all within the convenience and comfort of the patient's home utilizing filtered tap water.

Apparatus for performing peritoneal ultrafiltration
10946130 · 2021-03-16 · ·

An apparatus for ultrafiltration of a patient being overhydrated due to congestive heart failure. The apparatus comprises a dilution syringe for removal of a portion of peritoneal fluid from the peritoneal cavity. A glucose bag comprises glucose concentrate at a concentration of 30%. A small amount of glucose concentrate is mixed with the dilution fluid in the dilution syringe in order to dilute the glucose concentrate to below 3% concentration. Then, the mixture is filled into the peritoneal cavity from the dilution syringe in order to replenish the glucose in the peritoneal cavity for maintaining a substantially constant glucose concentration in the peritoneal cavity. In addition, peritoneal fluid is intermittently removed from the peritoneal cavity for counteracting increased intraperitoneal fluid volume and increased intraperitoneal pressure due to ultrafiltration. A UF bag is arranged for receiving such surplus peritoneal fluid. A glucose syringe may be arranged for metering the glucose concentrate.

DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING ENHANCED FEATURES INCLUDING DRIP PREVENTION

A peritoneal dialysis (PD) system includes a housing, a PD fluid pump housed by the housing, and a reusable patient line extending from the housing. The reusable patient line includes a distal end configured to be connected to a patient line connector provided by the housing. The PD system also includes at least one reusable PD fluid line extending from the housing, the at least one reusable PD fluid line including a distal end configured to be connected to a PD fluid line connector provided by the housing. The PD system further includes a control unit configured to cause the PD fluid pump to apply a negative pressure to at least one of the reusable patient line or the at least one reusable PD fluid line when connected, respectively, to the patient line connector or the PD fluid line connector.

Multi-lumen indwelling catheter

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a catheter, the catheter with a distal length extending to a distal end, the distal length configured to indwell a cavity of a patient body. The distal length may include a first lumen extending longitudinally through a lengthwise portion of the distal length, where the first lumen may be at least partially defined by a first inner diameter surface of the distal length. The distal length may include a second lumen extending longitudinally through the lengthwise portion of the distal length, where the second lumen may be at least partially defined by a second inner diameter surface of the distal length. A first fenestration may be disposed through a side wall of the first lumen. A proximal length of the catheter may include a proximal lengthwise portion of the first lumen and the second lumen.

Catheter Clearance Device and Method of Use
20210205523 · 2021-07-08 ·

A method and apparatus to direct a drug directly at the point needed for a specific duration for dialysis catheters which are made in standard sizes. Disclosed is a combination of a rate and duration-controlled infusion pump and reservoir and a pre-measured infusion catheter with a radiopaque distal tip. Along the length of the infusion catheter there is a luer lock connector and anti-leak valve. The invention is inserted into a dialysis catheter where the preset marking is aligned with the catheter hub and the distal infusion tip rest at or near the end of the dialysis catheter. The infusion unit is then activated, and the drug is delivered at the distal tip of the catheter, at or in the fibrin for maximum effect. The method of use and device saves time and resources as it can be deployed without the need for a surgical suite or heath care team.

Peritoneal dialysis systems, devices, and methods

An automated peritoneal dialysis system provides both cycler-assisted peritoneal dialysis treatment. The system includes a fluid preparation and treatment device with concentrate dilution components connected to a source of purified water and medicament concentrate. The treatment device has at least one mixing container connected via a pump and valves to the sources, the valves and the pump mixing and diluting the concentrate to form a medicament. Conductivity sensors are provided for fluid quality measurement, calibration, error trapping, and fluid characterization.

The distal end of the second mandrin is arranged at a distance (X) in the proximal direction from the distal catheter tip, the distance between the distal catheter tip and the distal end of the second mandrin corresponding in particular to a functional catheter tip length.

AUTOMATIC DIALYSATE DETECTION IN DIALYSIS MACHINES
20200405939 · 2020-12-31 ·

A method for operating a dialysis machine to conduct a dialysis treatment on a patient (e.g., a peritoneal dialysis machine) may include transferring dialysate from a first bag, and automatically determining the dialysate from the first bag has completely transferred. After determining the dialysate has completely transferred from the first bag, switching from the first bag to a second bag of dialysate. The method may further include transferring dialysate from the second bag in response to the detection of the completed transfer of the first bag, and automatically determining the dialysate from the second bag has completely transferred. The method may further include determining if the respective first or second bag has completely transferred by comparing a dialysate bag volume transferred to the patient to a detected volume of the respective first or second bag. Systems with dialysis machines for performing such a method are disclosed as well.
