A wearable electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a processor operatively connected to a wireless communication circuit, a first audio mixer, a second audio mixer, a first audio output interface, a second audio output interface, and a speaker, the processor being configured to detect output of a plurality of audio signals including a first audio signal having a first property, transmit the first audio signal having the first property to the first audio mixer, transmit remaining audio signals to the second audio mixer, transmit the first audio signal to the first audio output interface to output the first audio signal through the speaker, synthesize the remaining audio signals into a second audio signal using the second audio mixer, and transmit the synthesized second audio signal to the second audio output interface to output the second audio signal through the external device.

Earbuds

This application relates to earbuds configured with one or more biometric sensors. At least one of the biometric sensors is configured to be pressed up against a portion of the tragus for making biometric measurements. In some embodiments, the housing of the earbud can be symmetric so that the earbud can be worn interchangeably in either a left or a right ear of a user. In such an embodiment, the earbud can include a sensor and circuitry configured to determine and alter operation of the earbud in accordance to which ear the earbud is determined to be sitting in.

Providing isolation from distractions

An apparatus includes a first interface for connecting to a personal computer, a second interface for connecting to a communications device, a third interface for connecting to a headset, a fourth interface for connecting to a speaker, and a processor in control of each of the interfaces. The processor is configured to route audio associated with a communications session on one of the personal computer or the communications device to the speaker, and in response to a user putting on the headset, re-route the audio to the headset.

Dynamic audio quality enhancement

A set of user pools can be determined based on location data associated with each device in an audio/video (A/V) conference. A key active user can be determined for each user pool of the set of user pools based on valid audio signals received from each device within each user pool. A determination can be made whether there is feedback within each user pool. Responsive to determining feedback in at least one user pool, speakers of devices within the at least one user pool can be disconnected except for the key active user device within each respective user pool.

INTELLIGENT AMPLIFIER ACTIVATION

Embodiments are provided for intelligently activating an amplifier in a playback device based on proximity detection. The playback device may be in a quasi-idle state when the playback device is not rendering media content. The quasi-idle state of the playback device may involve an amplifier in the playback device being inactive, while some other components or modules of the playback devices remain active. The playback device may include a proximity sensor configured to detect movement relative to the playback device. If movement is detected indicating that a user input to cause the playback device to render media content is anticipated, the amplifier may be pre-emptively activated such that the playback device enters an active state from the quasi-idle state. In some cases, the playback device may send a message to one or more other playback devices to cause the other playback devices to enter an active state.

Playback device pairing

The present application discloses playback devices and networks, software for operating playback devices and playback device networks, and methods of operating playback devices and networks, where an individual network device is configured to switch between operating various operating modes comprising a non-paired mode and a paired mode, where the playback device is configured to output various channels of audio content within various audio frequency ranges while operating in the various operating modes.
