Detecting the nearest playback device
Examples described herein relate to transitioning a playback session between portable playback devices such as “smart” headphones, earbuds, and handheld speakers with playback devices of a zone-based media playback system. Exemplary techniques facilitate continuity of playback when transitioning between locations (e.g., from at home to on-the-go or vice versa) or between listening paradigms (e.g., personal or out-loud playback of audio content). An example implementation includes detecting a swap trigger, determining the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s), and performing a playback session swap between the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s).

Sound output devices, output systems and methods are provided. The sound output device includes a speaker; a communicator configured to perform communication with an external speaker and a content source that provides sound content to the external speaker; and a processor configured to recognize the external speaker in response to the device entering into a predetermined range from the external speaker, to perform pairing with the external speaker, to receive information about the content source from the external speaker, to receive the sound content from the content source based on the information about the content source, and to output the received sound content through the speaker.
IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus and a method thereof. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a display; an external device interface configured to perform short-range communication; and a controller configured to: when the number of external devices communicatively connected with the image display apparatus is one, or when a bandwidth usage for the short-range communication is less than a predetermined reference, transmit an entire signal to the one external device, when the number of the external devices is two or more, and the bandwidth usage is greater than or equal to the predetermined reference, acquire a plurality of channel signals from the entire signal; transmit a first channel signal to a first external device among the external devices; and transmit a second channel signal to a second external device among the external devices.
System and Method for Determining Audio Output Device Type
A method performed by a processor of an audio source device. The method drives an audio output device of the audio source device to output a sound with an audio output signal. The method obtains a microphone signal from a microphone of the audio source device, the microphone signal capturing the outputted sound. The method determines whether the audio output device is a headset or a loudspeaker based on the microphone signal and configures an acoustic dosimetry process based on the determination.
Audio control module
In embodiments of an audio control module (318), audio data (310) is received from an audio data source (314) for output to an audio rendering device (316). An initialization input (326) can be received from a wireless audio headset (320) and, responsive to receiving the initialization input, the audio data (328) is communicated to the audio headset. The audio that would be generated from the audio data (322) at the audio rendering device (316) is also limited, such as by replacing the audio data (322) with null audio data, clearing audio data packets from the audio data (322), or by asserting a mute signal (336) to the audio rendering device.
Determining a temperature value by analyzing audio
In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and computer-readable devices. An audio processing device plays a source audio signal, including causing the source audio signal to be audibly output by an electroacoustic transducer of a user earpiece. The audio processing device records, while playing the source audio signal, a recorded audio signal using the electroacoustic transducer. The audio processing device identifies one or more parameters that indicate how properties of the user earpiece affect playing of the source audio signal, at least one of the parameters being temperature dependent. The audio processing device determines a temperature value estimated to cause the source audio signal that was played by the audio processing device to result in the recorded audio signal, accounting for changes to the source audio signal that occur due to the one or more parameters.
Audio system including speakers with integrated amplifier and method of detecting speakers
An audio system includes a variable voltage power supply and at least one remotely positioned speaker assembly. The speaker assembly includes a driver (e.g., a tweeter) and a switching amplifier. Moving the switching amplifier to a remote position within the speaker assembly provides numerous design advantages and allows for utilization of a smaller power supply. In addition, the audio system is configured to detect a type of the at least one speaker and to adjust an output voltage of the variable voltage power supply accordingly. This allows for reconfiguration and/or expansion of original systems. A related method of detecting a type of speaker electrically connected to an audio source is also provided.
