Provided herein are wireless earbud systems that include a pair of earbuds connected at opposite ends of a lanyard. One or both earbuds may be connected to the lanyard by a releasable connection, that allows the (or each) earbud to be selectively attached to, detached from and reattached to the lanyard (or other lanyard). The earbuds contain electronics, but the lanyard is free of electrical connections. In certain examples, the wireless earbud system includes multiple lanyards of the same or different styles, colors, materials, or the like. The releasable connection allows the first and second earbuds to be selectively attached and detached from any one of the multiple lanyards, to allow a user to selectively choose and replace lanyards and/or earbuds. Each earbud may include a respective magnet (or one earbud includes a magnet and the other includes a magnetically attractable material) arranged such that the earbuds are magnetically attracted to each other, when brought together. When the earbuds are magnetically connected together, the earbuds and lanyard form a loop, and may be worn as a necklace, a bracelet, headband, belt, strap or other wearable apparel. SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BROADCASTING AUDIO

An audio system, device, and method for broadcasting, discovering, and receiving wireless audio data connections. The exemplary systems and methods described herein utilize an Isochronous Broadcast Stream topology to unilaterally broadcast a plurality of wireless audio data streams. The audio devices described are configured to discover and receive the plurality of wireless audio data streams and allow the user to organize these streams into a determined order and cycle through each stream based on user input.

Configuration of audio reproduction system

An electronic apparatus and method for configuration of an audio reproduction system is provided. The electronic apparatus captures a set of stereo images of the listening environment and identifies a plurality of objects, including a display device and a plurality of audio devices, in the set of stereo images. The electronic apparatus estimates first location information of the plurality of audio devices and second location information of the display device. Based on first location information and the second location information, the electronic apparatus identifies a layout of the plurality of audio devices. The electronic apparatus receives an audio signal from each audio device and determines a distance between each audio device of the plurality of audio devices and a user location based on the received audio signal. The electronic apparatus determines an anomaly in connection of at least one audio device and generates connection information based on the determined anomaly.

Disclosed are systems and methods for automatic control of gain in audio and video conferencing applications to maintain a predetermined and stable audio level. In one embodiment, a first stage applies a first stage gain based on a long-term estimate of signal level, while a second stage gain, based on a short-term estimate of signal level assists the first stage gain to achieve a target level. Some embodiments of long-term level estimation utilize statistical analysis of a buffer to validate or arrive at a more accurate long-term signal level estimate.

The disclosure describes techniques for automatically pairing multiple source devices to a sink device in response to a single source device being paired to the source device. For instance, in response to a single source device being manually paired to wireless earbuds, the techniques may automatically pair other source devices that are associated with a common user account. In addition, this disclosure describes techniques for configuring a sink device to periodically broadcast advertisement messages indicating a current state of the sink device, which enables source devices that receive the advertisement message to determine whether to establish a connection with the sink device based on a current state of the sink device.

System and method for determining audio output device type

A method performed by a processor of an audio source device. The method drives an audio output device of the audio source device to output a sound with an audio output signal. The method obtains a microphone signal from a microphone of the audio source device, the microphone signal capturing the outputted sound. The method determines whether the audio output device is a headset or a loudspeaker based on the microphone signal and configures an acoustic dosimetry process based on the determination.

Failure recovery of wearable playback device

An example implementation may involve a group of wearable playback devices including a first wearable playback device and a second wearable playback device. The wearable playback devices render multi-channel audio content according to particular playback responsibilities in the group. When a failure or other issue with the second wearable playback device occurs, the first playback device assumes at least part of the playback responsibility of the second playback device.
