Acoustic object extraction device and acoustic object extraction method

In the acoustic object extraction device, beam forming processing units generate a first acoustic signal by beam forming in an arrival direction of a signal from an acoustic object with respect to a microphone array and generate a second acoustic signal by beam forming in an arrival direction of a signal from the acoustic object with respect to a microphone array, and a common component extraction unit extracts, on the basis of a similarity between the spectrum of the first acoustic signal and the spectrum of the second acoustic signal and from the first acoustic signal and the second acoustic signal, a signal containing a common component corresponding to the acoustic object. The common component extraction unit divides the spectrums of the first acoustic signal and the second acoustic signal into a plurality of frequency sections and calculates a similarity for each of the frequency sections.

ADAPTIVE FEEDBACK CANCELATION AND ENTRAINMENT MITIGATION
20230090315 · 2023-03-23 ·

An audio system for artificial reality systems is configured to reduce feedback and mitigate entrainment in audio content presented to the user. The audio system utilizes adaptive feedback cancellation processes to reduce feedback. The audio system processes reference signals in a hybrid of the time domain and the frequency domain to achieve rapid convergence with decreased entrainment. The audio system may pre-whiten reference signals and speaker signals and separate the pre-whitened signals into frequency bands using a filter bank. The audio system uses a state space algorithm to generate adaptive filters in each frequency band. The adaptive filters may be applied to the speaker signal to generate a feedback cancelation signal which may be subtracted from the reference signal to decrease feedback.

System and method for individualized hearing air prescription

Disclosed is a system and method for individualized hearing aid prescription which consists of a test procedure that enables the fitting of an individualized estimation of the SII model to individual listeners efficiently and an optimization process which translates the resulting individualized model to the prescribed gains across frequencies for programming into the user's hearing aids. The test involves the recognition of one or more words presented in background noise, which better approximates the daily listening experiences of hearing-aid users compared to the pure-tone detection in a silent environment task which is commonly utilized during conventional audiometric testing. In the estimated SII model, five parameters describe in a custom fashion the relative weights of speech information across the five frequency bands for a given listener. The results from the speech test is used to determine the desirable amount of gain for each frequency region to optimize the user's aided speech intelligibility. The resulting gains for the individual may then be programmatically applied to the individual's prescribed hearing aid device(s).

DETECTION OF FEEDBACK PATH CHANGE

Methods and systems for signal processing an audio signal in a hearing device to detect when feedback path change occurs and controlling an adaptive feedback canceler to remove the feedback are provided. The hearing device includes a receiver and a microphone. An exemplary method includes detecting whether a tonal signal is caused by a feedback path change by estimating a product of a subband error signal and a subband output signal generated in response to a subband audio input signal; estimating a fast metric based on the estimated product and estimating a slow metric; and applying or maintaining an adaptation rate to the adaptive feedback canceler of the hearing device, wherein the adaptation rate applied or maintained is selected based upon a value of the difference between the fast and slow metrics compared to a threshold value.

Processes, methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for synchronizing multiple wireless data streams captured in action by various sensors, with lost data recovery. For example, a source device may have multiple sensors acquiring data and sending the data streams (e.g., via Bluetooth connections) to a target device. Timing information may be appended for each of the data streams. Data packets of the multiple data streams may be formed with the timing information. The data packets may be transmitted to a target device that is configured to synchronize the multiple data streams using the timing information. The target device, applying the example processes or techniques of this disclosure, may accurately synchronize the multiple data streams. In some cases, the target device may capture additional data streams and the processor synchronizes all data streams of both the source and the target devices.
