Method and system for customized amplification of auditory signals based on switching of tuning profiles
Disclosed herein are method, system, and computer program product embodiments for performing the continuous and autonomous selective tuning of received audio input from an earpiece, according to a variety of user-based tuning profiles and autonomous determination mechanisms for selecting any one of the tuning profiles, using logistic regression, multi-layered ensemble classifiers incorporating machine learning techniques, etc, for an optimal in-ear hearing experience for a user.
SPATIALLY DIFFERENTIATED NOISE REDUCTION FOR HEARING DEVICES
Disclosed herein, among other things, are systems and methods for spatially differentiated noise reduction for hearing device applications. A method includes sensing sound signals with a hearing device. A front-facing directional beam and a rear-facing directional beam are produced using the sensed sound signals, and the front-facing directional beam and the rear-facing directional beam are combined to obtain an output directional beam. The front-facing directional beam or the output directional beam is compared to the rear-facing directional beam to determine a front-rear differential. Responsive to a determination that the front-rear differential indicates that the rear-facing directional beam is dominant, the amount of noise reduction of the output directional beam is increased. Responsive to a determination that the front-rear differential indicates that the rear-facing directional beam is not dominant, an amount of noise reduction of the output directional beam is reduced.
PROCESSING OF AUDIO SIGNALS FROM MULTIPLE MICROPHONES
A first device includes a memory configured to store instructions and one or more processors configured to receive audio signals from multiple microphones. The one or more processors are configured to process the audio signals to generate direction-of-arrival information corresponding to one or more sources of sound represented in one or more of the audio signals. The one or more processors are also configured to and send, to a second device, data based on the direction-of-arrival information and a class or embedding associated with the direction-of-arrival information.
Systems and methods for suppressing sound leakage
A speaker comprises a housing, a transducer residing inside the housing, and at least one sound guiding hole located on the housing. The transducer generates vibrations. The vibrations produce a sound wave inside the housing and cause a leaked sound wave spreading outside the housing from a portion of the housing. The at least one sound guiding hole guides the sound wave inside the housing through the at least one sound guiding hole to an outside of the housing. The guided sound wave interferes with the leaked sound wave in a target region. The interference at a specific frequency relates to a distance between the at least one sound guiding hole and the portion of the housing.
Methods and apparatus for biometric processes
A method for generating an acoustic stimulus for use in an ear biometric process on a user, the method comprising: receiving an indication of stimulation frequencies for use in the ear biometric process; grouping the stimulation frequencies into bands of a psychoacoustic scale; generating the acoustic stimulus, the acoustic stimulus comprising a masked bandpass component within each band of the psychoacoustic scale that comprises one or more of the stimulation frequencies.
Synchronized mode transition
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, devices, and apparatuses for synchronized mode transitions are presented. A first device configured to be worn at an ear includes a processor configured to, in a first contextual mode, produce an audio signal based on audio data. The processor is also configured to, in the first contextual mode, exchange a time indication of a first time with a second device. The processor is further configured to, at the first time, transition from the first contextual mode to a second contextual mode based on the time indication.
Method and apparatus for in-ear canal sound suppression
A method and system of conferencing can include the steps of initiating a conference call at a communication device with two or more communication devices and selecting to suppress a voice communication of at least one communication device on the conference call where a modified electronic signal is generated with the selected at least one communication device so that the voice communication from the selected at least one communication device is inaudible. The method or system further includes sending the modified electronic signal to at least one other communication device on the conference call. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Ear-mount able listening device with voice direction discovery for rotational correction of microphone array outputs
Techniques described herein include generating first audio signals representative of sounds emanating from an environment and captured with an array of microphones disposed within an ear-mountable listing device. A rotational position of the array of microphones is determined. A rotational correction is applied to the first audio signals to generate a second audio signal. The rotational correction is based at least in part upon the determined rotational position. A speaker of the ear-mountable listening device is driven with the second audio signal to output audio into an ear.
HEADPHONE APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CONFIGURATION-BASED POWER SWITCHING
Electronic headphones that are operational when worn or placed on the head of a wearer and are non-operational when the electronic headphones are not worn. In exemplary embodiments, one or more sensors in the electronic headphones may detect this change of position of the earcups/pivot arms of the headset which indicates the wearer is no longer wearing the electronic headphones and put the electronic headphones in a non-operational state. Correspondingly, when placed on the head of a wearer, the sensor(s) detect the change of position of the electronic headphones which indicates the wearer is wearing the electronic headphones and puts the electronic headphones in an operational state.
HEADPHONE AND MULTI-STAGE NOISE-CANCELLATION EARPHONE ASSEMBLY
A headphone is configured to be used in combination with an in-ear earphone, and includes: an earmuff configured to be fitted over an auricle; an earmuff pickup arranged on an outer side of the earmuff and configured to collect an environmental sound; and a first speaker arranged on an inner side of the earmuff and configured to perform at least one of following actions: playing a noise-cancellation sound corresponding to the environmental sound collected by the earmuff pickup, or playing an audio. When the headphone is in use, the inner side of the earmuff and the auricle define an accommodating space for accommodating a part of the in-ear earphone exposed out of an external auditory canal. The headphone and the auricle define an accommodating space for accommodating the in-ear headphone.
