Open fit canal hearing device
11523233 · 2022-12-06 · ·

A hearing aid device adapted for use within the ear canal and of partially exposed in the canal types. This aid allows an air gap to substantially surround the hearing aid shell and air passages which communicate with the inner ear minimizing occlusion sensations and providing the user with an enhanced natural hearing experience. An aspect of this device is the provision of air passages in the mounting insert which securely positions the hearing aid shell in the wearer's canal. These passages are designed to stay open after insertion of the aid in the ear canal. In use, unamplified sound from the outside passes around the hearing aid shell, through the air passages in the mounting insert blending with the amplified sound emanating from the receiver. The area of air passages in the mounting insert can be tailored by the technician adapting to the hearing loss characteristics of the user.

Hearing assistance device with an accelerometer

A hearing assistance device is discussed that has one or more accelerometers, a user interface, and optionally a left/right determination module is configured to receive input data from the one or more accelerometers from user actions causing control signals as sensed by the accelerometers to trigger a program change for an audio configuration for the device selected from a group consisting of a change in amplification/volume control, a change in a mute mode, a change of a hear loss profile loaded into that hearing assistance device, and a change in a play-pause mode.

Conformable vented eartips are provided. A comfortable vented eartip includes an ear insertion end, an earphone insertion end opposite the ear insertion end, a base at the ear insertion end extending toward the earphone extension end, a central opening extending through the base to form an inner sound channel through the base, and at least one flange. The at least one flange includes a first flange end extending from the base at an angle away from the base and toward the earphone insertion end at a second flange end. The at least one flange includes at least one swept indent extending between the first flange end and the second flange end. The at least one swept indent sweeps laterally around a portion of a circumference of the at least one flange.

The application discloses an eartip, an earphone device, an earphone housing and a hearbud housing device. The eartip can include an outer portion, an inner portion, and an encapsulated volume formed by the inner and outer portion, wherein the outer portion is designed to contact the ear canal, and wherein the inner portion is designed to fit upon a stent. In an alternative embodiment, the airtip can include an inverted body, wherein when the inverted body is at least partially folded on itself the inverted body is arranged to include a bulbous region sized for insertion in an ear canal, a cavity internal to the bulbous region that holds a gas, where increasing pressure on the bulbous region releases a portion of the gas.

Sound collecting device

Provided is a sound collecting device in which sound is favorably input to a sound collecting unit. The sound collecting device includes an attachment portion that has a sound collecting unit attached and is adapted to be inserted into an external ear canal, a holding portion adapted to be inserted into the external ear canal and hold the attachment portion at a predetermined position in the external ear canal, and a wearing portion that is positioned on an opposite side of the attachment portion while interposing the holding portion and adapted to be at least partly engaged with an auricle, in which the attachment portion and the holding portion do not block the external ear canal and have acoustic transparency. Further, the attachment portion and the holding portion are positioned in the ear in a state of not blocking the external ear canal.

The application is directed to an eartip. The eartip can include an outer portion, an inner portion, and an encapsulated volume formed by the inner and outer portion, wherein the outer portion is designed to contact the ear canal, and wherein the inner portion is designed to fit upon a stent.

EARPHONES

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose an earphone including a fixing structure, a first microphone array, a processor, and a speaker. The fixing structure is configured to fix the earphone near a user's ear without blocking the user's ear canal and including a hook-shaped component and a body part. The first microphone array is located in the body part and is configured to pick up environmental noise. The processor is located in the hook-shaped component or the body part and is configured to estimate a sound field at a target spatial position using the first microphone array and generate a noise reduction signal based on the estimated sound field. The target spatial position is closer to the user's ear canal than any microphone in the first microphone array. The speaker is located in the body part and is configured to output a target signal according to the noise reduction signal.

PINNAL DEVICE

Disclosed examples include devices that are wearable at a recipient’s pinna and configured to deliver bone-conduction vibrations directly to the pinna. The device can be so configured by having a vibration transfer surface disposed within the pinna when the device is worn. The devices can lack a component configured to deliver vibrations to a non-pinnal surface, such as the ear canal. The devices can include a projection configured to be disposed within a recipient’s ear canal that is vibrationally decoupled from the remainder of the device.
