20230224667 · 2023-07-13 ·

A virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and/or mixed reality (MR) system in a physical environment with a plurality of loudspeakers includes a user-worn head mounted display (HMD), a VR/AR/MR processor, and a VR/AR/MR user tracking processor. The HMD includes a microphone and a user tracking device configured to track a user orientation and position. The VR/AR/MR processor delivers a digital video signal to the head-mounted display, and a digital control signal and a digital audio signal to a receiver/preamplifier. The VR/AR/MR user tracking processor receives user tracking data from the HMD user tracking device and provides a digital user tracking data signal to the receiver preamplifier. the receiver/preamplifier receives the digital user tracking data signal, the digital control signal, the digitized microphone signal, and the digital audio signal, and provides a processed audio signal to the amplifier. An amplifier receives the processed audio signal and provides amplified audio signals.

Systems and methods of adjusting bass levels of multi-channel audio signals

Systems and methods for adjusting bass levels of a multi-channel audio signal include, among other features, (i) receiving the multi-channel signal via a playback device; (ii) separating, from the multi-channel signal, low-frequency signals comprising frequencies less than a threshold frequency; (iii) determining electrical energies of the low-frequency signals; (iv) determining a first energy by summing the electrical energies of the low-frequency signals; (v) consolidating the low-frequency signals into a consolidated low-frequency signal; (vi) determining a second energy by determining an electrical energy of the consolidated low-frequency signal; (vii) generating a gain-adjusted low-frequency signal by adjusting a gain of the consolidated low-frequency signal based on both (a) the first energy and (b) the second energy; (viii) generating a gain-adjusted multi-channel signal by mixing the gain-adjusted low-frequency signal back into the multi-channel signal; and (ix) using the gain-adjusted multi-channel signal to play back gain-adjusted multi-channel audio content via the playback device.

ACOUSTIC MONITORING USING A SOUND MASKING EMITTER AS A SENSOR

Example embodiments may include one or more of receiving sound emissions signals from channels via sound emitters, controlling the sound emission signals, via relay circuits, and one of the relay circuits is configured to interrupt one of the sound emission signals associated with one of the sound emitters while the other sound emissions signals pass to the other corresponding sound emitters, and receiving, via a sound detection circuit, an electrical ambient sound signal based on ambient sound sensed by the one of the sound emitters responsive to the interrupted one of the sound emission signals.

TAZ GENE OR ENZYME REPLACEMENT THERAPY

Provided herein, in some aspects, are compositions and methods for treating Barth syndrome (BTHS) using human tafazzin gene therapy or enzyme replacement therapy. The present disclosure, in some aspects, provides compositions and methods (e.g., gene therapy or enzyme replacement therapy) for treating Barth syndrome (BTHS). It was demonstrated herein that certain human Tafazzin (hTAZ) isoforms and the full length protein, as well as nucleic acids encoding them, are effective in treating BTHS.

SPATIAL AUDIO SERVICE

A method, apparatus and computer program are provided for assessing a continuity of audio service by comparing a previous audio service with a first spatial audio service that uses user head-tracking and a second audio service to identify which of the first or second spatial audio service provides a continuity of audio service with respect to the previous audio service. If the first or second spatial audio service is assessed to provide continuity of audio service, the respective spatial audio service is selectively enabled. The first spatial audio service controls or sets at least one directional property of at least one sound source and the first spatial audio service is assessed to provide continuity of audio service if it can use head-tracking to control or set the at least one directional property of at least one sound source.
