METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING A STEREO SIGNAL
The disclosure relates to a method for processing a stereo signal. The method can include obtaining a center channel signal by up-mixing the stereo signal. The method can also include generating a filtered center channel signal by applying one or more peak filters and one or more notch filters to the center channel signal. Furthermore, the method can include generating a binaural signal based on the filtered center channel signal.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AN ULTRASONIC EMITTER SYSTEM FLOOR AUDIO UNIT
Methods and systems are provided for audio devices with enhanced directional operations. In a system that includes one or more audio output components, positioning information associated with positioning of a user within a three-dimensional space around the user maybe determined. The one or more audio output components may be controlled based on the determined positioning information, with the controlling including providing a three-dimensional audio environment according to the user. The controlling may include configuring least one audio output related parameter or function for optimizing, based on the determined positioning information, directionality of at least one of the one or more audio output components. The determined positioning information may be generated or adjusted based on sensory data relating to the user.
AUDIO DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOR
An audio apparatus includes a signal receiver configured to receive a left-channel signal and a right-channel signal of a stereo audio signal; at least one filter configured to block a signal in a band exceeding a predetermined frequency based on the frequency bands of each of the received left-channel signal and right-channel signal; and a controller configured to generate a center-channel signal of the stereo audio signal based on the left-channel signal and the right-channel signal passing through the filter, to calculate a signal level sensitivity between the left-channel signal and the right-channel signal passing through the filter, to determine a similarity between the left-channel signal and the right-channel signal based on the calculated signal level sensitivity, and to control the generated center-channel signal to be output in response to the determined similarity.

Manipulation of playback device response using signal processing
Example techniques involve outputting multiple audio channels using a multiple driver playback device. An example playback device receives a first and second channel of audio content. The playback device plays back play back the first channel via a first group of audio transducers such that the first group of audio transducers form, via superposition, a first response lobe having a maximum in a first direction. Further, the playback device plays back the second channel via a second group of audio transducers such that the second group of audio transducers form, via superposition, a second response lobe having a maximum in a second direction that is separated by an angle of at least 45° from the first direction.
Method and device for processing internal channels for low complexity format conversion
A method of processing an audio signal includes receiving an audio bitstream encoded via MPEG Surround 212 (MPS212); generating an internal channel (IC) signal for a single channel pair element (CPE), based on the received audio bitstream, equalization (EQ) values for MPS212 output channels defined in a format converter, and gain values for the MPS212 output channels; and generating stereo output channels, based on the generated IC signal.
Stereo parameters for stereo decoding
An apparatus includes a receiver and a decoder. The receiver is configured to receive a bitstream that includes a first frame and a second frame. The first frame includes a first portion of a mid channel and a first quantized stereo parameter. The second frame includes a second portion of the mid channel and a second quantized stereo parameter. The decoder is configured to generate a first portion of a channel based on the first portion of the mid channel and the first quantized stereo parameter. The decoder is configured to, in response to the second frame being unavailable for decoding operations, estimate the second quantized stereo parameter based on stereo parameters of one or more preceding frames and generate a second portion of the channel based on the estimated second quantized stereo parameter.
