ADAPTIVE PAYLOAD SIZES FOR STREAMING DATA DELIVERY BASED ON USAGE PATTERNS
Methods, devices, and system related to adaptive determination of payload sizes based on usage patterns of the contents are disclosed. In one example aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processor that is configured to transmit a first data packet associated with a first network content to a user device, receive a request from the user device indicating a switch to a second network content from the first network content, determine a usage pattern associated with the first network content based on information included in at least the first data packet and the request, and adaptively change, based on the usage pattern, a payload size of a second data packet associated with a subsequent transmission of the first network content.
Geo-fence authorization provisioning
A system includes a communication module that receives a request to post content to an event gallery associated with an event. The request in turn includes geo-location data for a device sending the content, and identification data identifying the device or a user of the device. The system further has an event gallery module to perform a first authorization operation that includes determining that the geo-location data corresponds to a geo-location fence associated with an event. The event gallery module also performs a second authorization operation that includes using the identification data to verify an attribute of the user. Finally, based on the first and second authorization operations, the event gallery module may selectively authorize the device to post the content to the event gallery.
CATCHMENT MODELING
Examples provide catchment modeling for identifying destination locations eligible for last mile delivery from source locations, such as a store or fulfillment center. The catchment modeling system divides a catchment area associated with the source location into a plurality of geohash blocks within a polygon fence. The size of the geohash blocks varies relative to proximity of each geohash block to a fence point within a polygon fence. The plurality of blocks includes a set of inclusion blocks within the predetermined distance from the source location and/or a set of exclusion blocks exceeding the predetermined distance from the source location. Data compression via polygon merging is performed. The compressed data is cached for utilization during catchment delivery eligibility determinations. If a destination address is within the set of inclusion address or absent from the set of exclusion addresses, the destination is eligible for delivery from the source to the destination.

The present invention discloses a method and a system for transmitting an uplink signal between a plurality of carriers, user equipment, and a base station, so that channel reciprocity can be effectively utilized. The method in embodiments of the present invention includes: receiving indication signaling sent by a base station; and transmitting an uplink signal in a target subframe of a corresponding target carrier based on the indication signaling.

The mobile phone includes a memory adapted to maintain profiles relating to user contacts, an output device operable to emit audible notifications responsive to incoming communications, at least one input device operable to receive a user selection of a silent notification mode of the device and a user selection of a silent mode disabled setting associated with the profiles and a processor coupled to the memory, the output device and the at least one input device. When the device is in the silent notification mode, audible notifications are not emitted from the output device responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles without the silent mode disabled and audible notifications are emitted from the output device responsive to incoming communications from the user contacts having profiles with the silent mode disabled.

A system may comprise a sending mobile phone that transmits SMS messages via a cellular network and packet switched messages via a PSMS and at least one server that supports the PSMS and maintains status information. The sending mobile phone may send a second message via a WLAN and via the PSMS, to a receiving mobile phone on a condition that an undelivered message threshold corresponding to the receiving mobile phone has not been exceeded.
