SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR USING SECURITY SENSORS IN CONNECTION WITH A THERMOSTAT
A system, apparatus and method for deactivating HVAC equipment when the thermostat determines that a door or a window has been opened. The thermostat determines that a door or window is open using one or more security sensors previously installed for use with a separate security system.

TRANSACTION CHANGE BACK PROCESSING
When change back is due to a customer at a transaction terminal after a cash payment made by the customer during checkout, a code is generated and rendered on a display of the terminal. The customer captures the code with a camera of a customer-operated device causing a mobile application to launch on the device requesting that the customer designate how the customer wants the change back to be provided. The customer can select a loyalty wallet, a digital wallet, and/or a donation wallet for transferring some or all of the change back. The designated amount of the change back is transferred to the customer-selected wallet(s) and any remaining cash bills still due to the customer as remaining change back is provided to the customer and the transaction concludes at the terminal.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING ASSISTANT INFORMATION FOR A QUICK SWITCH BETWEEN BROADCAST AND UNICAST TRANSMISSION IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for transmitting assistant information for a quick switch between broadcast and unicast transmission in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device receives, from a network, a service via unicast. A wireless device detects reception of the service via multicast and/or broadcast while receiving the service via unicast. A wireless device informs the network of the reception of the service via the multicast and/or the broadcast.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MONITORING ALARMS FROM THIRD PARTY DEVICES
A server acts as an event analyzer for a home security or monitoring system. The server receives a signal from a remote third-party server, the signal including data relating to a condition detected by a device at a premises. The server determines whether the remote third-party server corresponds to a preexisting third-party server registration. The server determines whether the device corresponds to a preexisting device registration. When the remote third-party server is determined to correspond to the preexisting third-party server registration and the device is determined to correspond to the preexisting device registration, the server determines whether the condition detected by the device at the premises is an alarm condition. When the condition detected by the device at the premises is determined to be the alarm condition, the server transmits an alarm signal to a central monitoring station.
Method and device for determining a position of a mobile participant of a wireless communication network, participant of the wireless communication network, remotely disposed network unit, wireless communication network
A method is provided for determining a position of a mobile participant of a wireless communication network, wherein the method comprises: determining (102) a first distance between the mobile participant and a stationary participant of the wireless communication network depending on a location signal transmitted by the stationary participant or the mobile participant; determining (104) a second distance between a stationary replicator unit and the mobile participant depending on a replicated signal which is transmitted by means of the stationary replicator unit depending on the location signal, and depending on a further distance between the replicator unit and the stationary participant; and determining (106) a position of the mobile participant depending on the first distance and depending on the second distance.
Connection management techniques
Devices communicating wirelessly may experience temporary disconnections. While disconnected, a device may be unable to notify the other device that an update has occurred and that data previously used for communication may no longer be current. An ephemeral characteristic can be used by a service device that is updated each time a change occurs on the service device that may impact communications. A client device can use cached service data to attempt to write to this ephemeral characteristic. If the write does not complete successfully, it can be determined that the cached data is no longer current and a service request change can be used to cause the client device to flush the cached data and request current data from the service device.
Providing emergency location information
A user equipment (UE) may identify that an emergency call is being initiated and send further messages including the location of the UE. The UE receives emergency location signaling parameters, identifies that an emergency communication has been initiated by the UE based on the emergency location signaling parameters and transmits a message to an endpoint associated with emergency services based on the identification of the emergency message being initiated, wherein the message includes location information for the UE.
AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATIONS FOR EXPIRED SUBSCRIPTIONS
Systems and methods are provided for automatic notifications of expired subscriptions. In various embodiments, a network function can request a subscription from a Unified Data Repository (UDR). The request for the subscription can include a request for a notification when the subscription expires or at a time prior to the expiration of the subscription. When the subscription expires or at the time prior to the expiration of the subscription, the UDR can provide a notification that the subscription has expired or is about to expire. Based on the notification, the network function can request to re-subscribe or request a new subscription from the UDR.
