Wireless communication network fault recovery using integrated access and backhaul

A wireless access node detects a fault and scans for a wireless Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) service. A network controller also detects the fault and signals a neighbor access node to initiate the wireless IAB service. The wireless access node wirelessly exchanges fault data with the neighbor access node over the wireless TAB service. The neighbor access node exchanges the fault data with the network controller in response to the signaling. The wireless access node recovers from the fault in response to the fault data.

An apparatus and corresponding method defend an interconnect communications network from a fraud committed via general packet radio service (GPRS) tunneling protocol (GTP). The apparatus provides data access security in the communications network. The apparatus is included in an interconnect network of the communications network. The apparatus comprises a communications interface and a processor. The processor is configured to authenticate a general packet radio service (GPRS) tunnel protocol (GTP) request to create a new session by authenticating network and subscriber information included in the GTP request. The network and subscriber information are received via the communications interface. The processor is further configured to provide the data access security by preventing access to data, accessed via the interconnect network using a GTP tunnel established for the new session, by blocking the GTP tunnel from being established in an event the GTP request cannot be authenticated.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACQUIRING NETWORK CONTROL DATA OF A USER EQUIPMENT IN CELLULAR NETWORKS

A device of a network may receive, from a network device of the network, data identifying a radio access technology (RAT) type associated with a user equipment of the network, an extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) timer associated with the user equipment, and a power saving mode (PSM) timer associated with the user equipment. The device may store the data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer, and may provide, to an application server, a notification that includes the data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer. The data identifying the RAT type, the eDRX timer, and the PSM timer may cause the application server to control or troubleshoot the user equipment.

Method and apparatus for performing cell specific procedure or mobility procedure for network slice-based NR in wireless communication system

A new cell specific procedure and/or a mobility procedure may be defined to more efficiently support a network slice function in new radio access technology (NR), which is a part of a 5G communication system. In terms of a radio access network (RAN)—RAN interface, the cell specific procedure comprises that a first RAN node transmits a first indicator related with the slice support of the first RAN node to a second RAN node, and receives from the second RAN node a second indicator related with the slice support of the first RAN node. The mobility procedure comprises that a target RAN node transmits a path change request message including slice-related information to a core network (CN) node, and receives from the CN node a path change response message including at least one of a common control plane function (C-CPF) identifier (ID), a finally selected slice-related ID or U-Plane information.
