Electrical device designed to operate in an alternative operating mode in which the electrical device accesses a mobile telephony network (2), the electrical device having a central processing component (3) designed to manage the operation of the electrical device, a reception device (15) for receiving a SIM card (16), a presence detector (17) for detecting the presence of the SIM card, and a communication module (6) dedicated to communications with the mobile telephony network and linked to the reception device (15), the electrical device being characterized in that the central processing component (3) comprises a detection input (22) linked to the presence detector (17), such that the central processing component (3) is designed to determine whether or not the SIM card (16) is positioned in the reception device (15) without activating the communication module (6).
Methods and apparatuses for dynamically updating routing identifier(s)
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for dynamically updating routing identifiers (IDs) are provided. One method may include deciding, at a network node, to update a routing identifier for at least one user equipment. The method may then include obtaining or generating a new routing identifier to be assigned to the at least one user equipment along with authentication vectors, and transmitting the new routing identifier to an authentication entity.

Disclosed according to various embodiments are an electronic device for opening a communication service and a method for an operation of the electronic device. The electronic device may comprise: a display; a memory for storing device information about the electronic device and an application for activating a communication service for an external electronic device; a first communication module for establishing a first communication channel to communicate with at least one of a first external server in which information about a plurality of service providers providing communication services is stored, a second external server related to the activation of communication services, and a third external server for providing a profile for the use of communication services; a second communication module for establishing a second communication channel to communicate with the external electronic device; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to control the application to: transmit the device information about the electronic device to the external electronic device by using the second communication module; receive, from the external electronic device, information for activating a communication service identified on the basis of the device information about the electronic device; and display a screen for activating the communication service for the external electronic device according to whether each of two or more activation methods for the communication service and contained in the information for activating the communication service is supported.

Controlling connectivity of an electronic device to a mobile network
An approach for preventing electronic devices from repeatedly attempting to register or connect to a mobile network when they are not permitted to communicate using the mobile network. Embodiments determine whether the electronic device and/or associated SIM is permitted to communicate using the mobile network. In response to determining that the electronic device and/or SIM is not permitted to communicate using the mobile network, the contents of the SIM are modified to prevent the SIM from providing, to other components of the electronic device, communication data used to make a connection or authentication request to the mobile network.
Controlling connectivity of an electronic device to a mobile network
An approach for preventing electronic devices from repeatedly attempting to register or connect to a mobile network when they are not permitted to communicate using the mobile network. Embodiments determine whether the electronic device and/or associated SIM is permitted to communicate using the mobile network. In response to determining that the electronic device and/or SIM is not permitted to communicate using the mobile network, the contents of the SIM are modified to prevent the SIM from providing, to other components of the electronic device, communication data used to make a connection or authentication request to the mobile network.
System and method for using multiple wireless devices on a single wireless phone number
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, responsive to a first registration request to access a mobile network, determining whether a first phone number associated with a first IMSI assigned to a first SIM of a first mobile device matches a second phone number associated with a second IMSI assigned to a second SIM of a second mobile device, determining whether the second mobile device is currently registered to the mobile network, and, in turn, sending a request for authentication to register the first mobile device and to deregister the second mobile device, determining whether a response to the request for the authentication code matches an authentication code, and responsive to the determining the response matches the authentication code, registering the first mobile device to the mobile network and deregistering the second mobile device from the mobile network. Other embodiments are disclosed.
System and method for using multiple wireless devices on a single wireless phone number
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, responsive to a first registration request to access a mobile network, determining whether a first phone number associated with a first IMSI assigned to a first SIM of a first mobile device matches a second phone number associated with a second IMSI assigned to a second SIM of a second mobile device, determining whether the second mobile device is currently registered to the mobile network, and, in turn, sending a request for authentication to register the first mobile device and to deregister the second mobile device, determining whether a response to the request for the authentication code matches an authentication code, and responsive to the determining the response matches the authentication code, registering the first mobile device to the mobile network and deregistering the second mobile device from the mobile network. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Flexible electronic subscriber identity module deployment
Techniques for flexible electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) deployment to a wireless device by a network server, including generation of multiple eSIMs using an identical eSIM identifier value, such as an identical integrated circuit card identifier (ICCID) value, and subsequent selection of an eSIM based on capabilities of the wireless device. Multiple eSIMs that correspond to different sets of wireless device capabilities are generated without knowledge of the wireless communication standards that a wireless device supports. The multiple eSIMs include a first eSIM that includes fifth generation (5G) wireless communication protocol information and a second eSIM that excludes 5G wireless communication protocol information. The network server selects an eSIM from the multiple eSIMs based on whether the wireless device is 5G capable. After selection and binding of a profile package that includes the eSIM, the remaining eSIMs that use the identical ICCID value are deleted, for security enforcement against cloning.
