BIOMETRIC ACTIVITY BASED PAIRING PROTOCOLS FOR WEARABLE DEVICES
The present invention teaches a method of pairing two user worn devices including collecting first and second biometric activity from respective first and second user worn devices to create first and second biometric signals, processing the first and second biometric signals to create first and second keys and determining if the keys match to allow for pairing of the two user worn devices. The first and second biometric activity may be the same or different biometric activities. The processing of the biometric signals is adjusted based upon the types of biometric activities being sensed.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING DIRECT COMMUNICATION SERVICE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services.
A method of a first terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes establishing a unicast link with a second terminal; determining to change a first old identifier of the first terminal related to the unicast link to a first new identifier of the first terminal; transmitting, to the second terminal, a link identifier (ID) update request message including the first new identifier by using the first old identifier and a second old identifier of the second terminal; in response to the link ID update request message, receiving, from the second terminal, a link ID update accept message including a second new identifier of the second terminal changed from the second old identifier and the first new identifier by using the first old identifier and the second old identifier; and transmitting, to the second terminal, a link ID update acknowledgement message including the second new identifier.
Methods and Electronic Devices for Verifying Device Identity During Secure Pairing
An electronic device includes a first communication device operable across a first medium of communication and a second communication device operable across a second medium of communication that is different from the first medium of communication. One or more processors operable with the first communication device and the second communication device obtain a client certificate digest from a prospective client device using the first communication device. Thereafter, the one or more processors receive a client certificate from a remote electronic device using the second communication device. The one or more processors then verifying that the prospective client device and the remote electronic device are the same device prior to establishing a secure communication session.
