Radio access network control unit and dynamic small cell
A radio access network (RAN) control unit for determining a functional operation of a dynamic small cell, in particular an unplanned small cell, a nomadic node or a relay, in a radio communication network is disclosed. The radio communication network includes at least one network slice associated with at least one user equipment (UE) and at least one radio channel connecting the at least one UE to the radio communication network. The RAN control unit includes a processor configured to determine a functional operation of the dynamic small cell (DSC) based on information based on channel measurements of the at least one radio channel and/or requirement information of the at least network one slice, and/or estimated or measured performance of the RAN, and/or location information of the DSC.
Cell configuration for packet duplication
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. Packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) packet duplication may be configured for a bearer of a wireless device. The bearer may use various cells to send packets. A base station central unit and/or a base station distributed unit may configure the cells for the bearer based on various types of information.

Frequency planning for a communication system
A method for frequency planning of a proposed microwave system is provided. The method includes receiving data regarding the proposed microwave system. The method further retrieves site-specific interference data from a database for a region around the proposed microwave system. The method also presents a graphical representation of frequency availability based on the received data and the retrieved data. When a user input is received, the method provides additional details on potential interference levels.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WIRELESS EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT
One or more systems and methods for wireless equipment deployment are provided herein. Imagery of locations depicting structures within a list of structures is analyzed to identify features of the structures within the locations. Ranks may be calculated for the structures based upon structure scores and installation scores calculated from the features. In response to a rank for a structure exceeding a threshold, wireless equipment deployment of a communication device may be triggered so that the communication device is controlled to exchange communication signals with devices proximate the structure.
Agricultural sensor placement and fault detection in wireless sensor networks
Disclosed are various embodiments for optimized sensor deployment and fault detection in the context of agricultural irrigation and similar applications. For instance, a computing device may execute a genetic algorithm (GA) routine to determine an optimal sensor deployment scheme such that a mean-time-to-failure (MTTF) for the system is maximized, thereby improving communication of sensor measurements. Moreover, in various embodiments, a centralized fault detection scheme may be employed and a soil moisture of a field can be determined by statistically inferring soil moistures at locations of faulty nodes using spatial and temporal correlations.
Radio wave environment display system and radio wave environment display method
A radio wave environment display system includes a measurement antenna and a radio wave environment display device. The measurement antenna measures a radio wave intensity of a first radio wave transmitted by the wireless communication service, and performs a scan of radio wave intensities of radio waves including the first radio wave in a target area. The radio wave environment display device includes a processor configured to: select a radio wave intensity of a second radio wave having a frequency the same as or in the vicinity of a frequency of the first radio wave from the radio waves obtained by the scan; and calculate a communication environment of a wireless communication service on the basis of a difference between the radio wave intensity of the first radio wave and the radio wave intensity of the second radio wave.

System, method and computer-accessible medium for predicting wireless signal degradation
An exemplary system, method and computer-accessible medium for determining a degradation(s) of a wireless link(s) can be provided, which can include, for example, periodically determining a wireless channel quality of the wireless link(s) between a sender and a receiver, recording a history of the wireless channel quality, determining whether a plurality of diffractive pulses are present based on the history and determining the degradation(s) based on the presence of the plurality of diffractive pulses. The wireless channel can be in a beam-forming direction. The degradation(s) can be an impending degradation.
