STATION PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE METHOD

In two-dimensional map data showing buildings to be candidates in which terminal station devices are to be installed, a position of a base station installation structure to be a candidate in which a base station device is to be installed is set as a base station candidate position, an unobstructed view for each of the buildings from the base station candidate position is determined based on the map data while excluding a region blocked by the building having an unobstructed view from the base station candidate position, and a range of a contour line having an unobstructed view of the building determined as having the unobstructed view is detected as an unobstructed view range. A candidate of, among wall surfaces of the building corresponding to the detected unobstructed view range, the wall surface on which the terminal station device can be installed is extracted. Three-dimensional point group data obtained by taking an image of a region including the base station installation structure and the building is narrowed down using information concerning the extracted wall surface. An unobstructed view for the building from the base station candidate position is determined using the narrowed-down point group data.

Environment information acquisition method, environment information acquisition apparatus and environment information acquisition system

An environmental information acquisition method is performed by an environmental information acquisition apparatus that acquires a measurement result of a radio wave environment. The environmental information acquisition method includes distributing software of each radio scheme to one or more base station apparatuses measuring a radio wave environment of the radio scheme based on the software of the radio scheme, instructing the one or more base station apparatuses to measure the radio wave environment, and acquiring the measurement result of the radio wave environment from the one or more base station apparatuses measuring based on the software the radio wave environment in multiple sections set across an area.

With first and second wagons (1, 3), including an emitter similar to the one of an access point and a receiving wagon (2), including a receiver similar to the one of a device onboard a train and measuring a quantity relating to a received signal, this method consists of: placing the first wagon at a previous implantation point while the emitter of the first wagon emits a first signal, moving the receiving wagon away from the first wagon; when the quantity relating to the first signal is under a threshold, immobilizing the receiving wagon; while the emitter of the second wagon emits a second signal, moving the second wagon away from the receiving wagon; when the quantity relating to the second signal is under the threshold, immobilizing the second wagon; and storing its position as the implantation point of an access point.

Cellular communication equipment radio resource adaptation

A cellular communication radio resource adaptor. The adaptor comprises a data store, at least one processor, a non-transitory memory, and an application. The application accesses a network management system (NMS) of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) identified in an inventory of radio access network (RAN) equipment to read cell site equipment setting information. The application analyzes the cell site setting information and presents a map of an area overlaid with a graphical indication of the cellular communication radio resources owned or leased by a service provider and overlaid with a graphical indication of the cellular coverage areas by each cell site. The service provider may then adapt RAN equipment of the cell sites to efficiently use cellular communication radio resources.

METHOD AND APPARATUS OF USING DRIVE TEST DATA FOR PROPAGATION MODEL CALIBRATION

A method using drive test data for propagation model calibration includes: step 1, obtaining original drive test data; step 2, selecting the data from the drive test data according to predefined conditions as effective drive test data; and step 3, extracting the effective drive test data to form a data file used for propagation model calibration. An apparatus using drive test data for propagation model calibration includes: a drive test data obtaining module, configured to obtain the drive test data in the regions to be calibrated; an effective drive test data generation module, configured to generate effective drive test data from the drive test data according to predefined conditions; and a data file generation module, configured to extract the effective drive test data to form a data file used for propagation model calibration. The present invention utilizes drive test data of existing networks to largely decrease the CW test work and reduce the network building cost. It is believed that the calibrated model can relatively accurately reflect the propagation characteristics in the field. Furthermore, base stations can be optimally allocated.
