Identifying mobile station in a cellular wireless communication system
Method and apparatus in a cellular wireless communication system are provided. A mobile station is handed over from a first network control node to a second network control node. A second network control node transmits a mobile identity indicator embedded in a handover report message to the first network control node after the successful handover. The transmitting is triggered by an occurrence of a handover failure or a radio link failure for the mobile station while the mobile station is connected to the second network control node. The first network control node receives the mobile identity indicator and identifies the mobile station using the mobile identity indicator.
MOBILITY MANAGEMENT FOR RRC_INACTIVE USER EQUIPMENT
A method for radio access net work (RAN) based notification area (RNA) update for an RRC_INACTIVE user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method includes initiating, by the RRC_INACTIVE UE, an RNA update procedure, when the RRC_INACTIVE UE is moving from a first base station to a second base station; and receiving, by the RRC_INACTIVE UE, the updated RNA, from at least one of a core network (CN), the first base station and the second base station.
Communication apparatus, communication apparatus control method, and program
A communication apparatus, in a case where a partner apparatus is not in the communicable state in a second mode of a first wireless communication method, specifies a predetermined memory area of the partner apparatus and transmits, to the partner apparatus using a first mode of the first wireless communication method, a communication parameter used for communication between the communication apparatus and the partner apparatus in a second wireless communication method.
Methods, test systems and arrangements for verifying compliance with requirement specifications
Systems and methods for verifying compliance of a communication device with one or more requirement specifications is provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method may be performed at a communication device for verifying compliance of the communication device with a requirement specification. Further, while a test loop is activated in the communication device, the method may include receiving, at a receiver of the communication device and on a downlink of a radio link, downlink data. In response to determining an occurrence of an event specific to verifying the compliance of the communication device with the requirement specification and used to control when the communication device transfers the received downlink data from the receiver to a transmitter of the communication device, the method may include transferring, from the receiver, to the transmitter, the received downlink data. Also, the method may include transmitting, from the transmitter on an uplink of the radio link, the received downlink data. The received downlink data transmitted on the uplink may be used to verify the compliance.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BASE STATION DEVICE, CONTROL DEVICE, AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
In order to enable the protection of a system in which an abnormality is detected even while restricting the degradation of availability of a service provided by a base station device, a communication system in an exemplary embodiment has a first server which provides a first service, a second server which provides a second service, and a first base station device communicating with the first and second servers, wherein in the case where the second service has a higher priority than the first service, a communication path between the first base station device and the first server is cut off when an abnormality is detected from the first server.
Adjustable interleaving for communication data
Techniques for adjustable interleaving for communication data are described. In at least some embodiments, interleaving depth for data is adjustable based on various parameters, such as a media type included in the data, signal quality for a signal used to transmit the data, and so forth. Thus, implementations discussed herein enable dynamic adjustment of interleaving and encoding for data to be transmitted as part of a communication session.
System and method for restricting mobility in wireless networks
This invention provides a method, system and apparatus for controlling mobility on a wireless network, which includes retrieving a network mobility preference, the network mobility preference indicating a level of mobility service for the mobile station, the level of mobility service indicating the extent to which the mobile station can handoff among base stations of the wireless network, and establishing a level of mobility service for the mobile station based on the retrieved network mobility preference. The method and apparatus may further include determining the level of mobility service for the mobile station to be fully or partially restricted based on the mobility preference.
BEAM SELECTION AND RADIO LINK FAILURE DURING BEAM RECOVERY
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for beam recovery and radio link failure (RLF) in communications systems using beamforming and operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. An exemplary method that may be performed by a UE includes communicating using beamforming with a base station (BS) via a transmit beam and a receive beam of an active beam pair and obtaining an indication of one or more alternative beams for the UE to use to send a beam recovery message to the BS in the event the transmit beam and the receive beam of the active beam pair become misaligned.
HANDOFF PROCEDURE IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The invention relates to an improved handover procedure for a mobile terminal. Under control of the target base station, the mobile terminal is to perform a handoff to a target base station, wherein it is to be configured for communication with the target base station via a target radio cell comprising a downlink carrier and an uplink carrier. The mobile terminal receives a handoff command message for the handoff to the target base station including a handoff execution condition as trigger for executing handoff to the target base station. Then, the mobile terminal determines, based on the received handoff execution condition, whether or not the mobile terminal is to trigger execution of the handoff to the target base station. In case the mobile terminal determines that it is to trigger execution of the handoff to the target base station, the mobile terminal executes the handoff to the target base station.
Connected mode mobility in new radio
The present application is at least directed to an apparatus in a network including a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon for obtaining a resource for accessing a target cell in the network. The apparatus includes a processor, operably coupled to the non-transitory memory, configured to execute the instructions of detecting plural beams associated with the target cell. The processor also executes the instructions of determining one or more of the plural detected beams meeting a threshold for performing random access. The processor also executes the instructions of evaluating if a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource is associated with the one or more determined beams meeting the threshold. The processor further executes the instructions of selecting one of the evaluated beams exhibiting a reference signal received power (RSRP) above a predetermined value. The processor even further executes the instructions of picking the PRACH resource associated with the selected beam.
