Beam switching robustness in unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine a degradation of a communication beam associated with a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit a first signal identifying a beam switch occasion for the UE. The UE may receive a second signal identifying the beam switch occasion based on an outcome of the contention-based procedure. In some cases, the UE may transmit a third signal acknowledging the beam switch occasion during an acknowledgment opportunity based on the second signal, and may perform a beam switch during the beam switch occasion based on transmitting the third signal.

SWITCHING SATELLITES IN FIXED RADIO CELL

In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes operating, by a user equipment (UE), in a network with fixed radio cells. The method also includes determining, by the UE, a plurality of potential satellites for selecting a first cell to camp on, the first cell associated with a first satellite. The method includes performing cell reselection, by the UE, to select a cell associated with a second satellite using a selection condition. The method further includes establishing, by the UE, a connection with the second satellite for paging monitoring or wireless communications. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

WIRELESS LINK RECOVERY
20210337453 · 2021-10-28 ·

A wireless communications method includes acquiring, by a first radio terminal, one or more radio link qualities according to one or more first reference signal (RS) resources. One or more first RS resources are transmitted by a second radio terminal, in a first cell. The method includes determining, by the first radio terminal, a beam failure instance according to the one or more radio link qualities. The method further includes initializing, by the first radio terminal, a recovery request procedure. The recovery request procedure includes at least transmitting, in a case wherein a first condition is met, from the first radio terminal to the second radio terminal in a second cell, a link recovery request message. The first condition includes at least that a number of beam failure instances is equal to or greater than a first threshold value.

COMMUNICATIONS METHOD AND APPARATUS

A communications method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving first configuration information, where the first configuration information is used to configure a first bandwidth part (BWP); and sending sidelink data on a resource included in a first transmission resource pool, where a frequency range of the first transmission resource pool is included in a frequency range of the first BWP and a frequency range of a second BWP, and the second BWP is an activated uplink BWP. The communications method and apparatus in this application can implement terminal device communication on the first BWP and the second BWP, and reduce a time of switching between the first BWP and the second BWP, thereby improving efficiency of the communication on the first BWP and the second BWP.

Generate user-friendly string to replace telephone number

An approach is provided that hides a caller's telephone number and instead displays a user friendly string that acts as an alias for the caller's identity. The approach receives, from a caller using a calling device, an incoming call at a receiving device that is the information handling system such as a smart phone. The incoming call includes a set of textual metadata that includes an alias corresponding to caller as well as the caller's telephone number that corresponds to the calling device. The approach then displays, on a display screen accessible from the receiving device, the alias while inhibiting display of the caller telephone number, thus keeping the caller's actual telephone number hidden from the user of the receiving device.
