Method and equipment for handover
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method and equipment for handover are provided. The method includes informing, by a source base station, a source core network whether a direct data forwarding path is available, determining, by the source core network, whether to use direct data forwarding or indirect data forwarding, informing, by the source core network, a target core network of information of direct data forwarding, indirect data forwarding or data forwarding being not possible, informing, by the target core network, a target base station of the information of direct data forwarding, indirect data forwarding or data forwarding being not possible, and allocating, by the target base station, tunnel information for data forwarding.
Communication Apparatus and Method for Handling a Handover in a Wireless Network
A communication apparatus comprises a radio transceiver and a modem processor. The radio transceiver is configured to transmit or receive wireless signals in a wireless network. The modem processor is coupled to the radio transceiver and configured to perform operations comprising: connecting to a first network device via a first communication link in a first frequency band; predicting a handover according to at least one of at least one measurement result or location information; connecting to a second network device via a second communication link in a second frequency band, after predicting the handover; performing the handover from the first network device to a third network device, to stop connecting to the first network device and to connect to the third network device via the first communication link in the first frequency band; and stopping connecting to the second network device, after performing the handover.

System and methods for phased reconfiguration in wireless systems
A system and methods for performing phased reconfiguration in a wireless communications system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may perform a phased reconfiguration from a source cell to a target cell. The WTRU may be connected to the source cell and may execute a first set of functions towards the source cell. The WTRU may monitor for a first set of preconfigured trigger conditions and a second set of preconfigured trigger conditions. The WTRU may commence a second set of functions towards the target cell based on detection of at least one of the first set of preconfigured trigger conditions while continuing to execute the first set of functions towards the source cell. The WTRU may cease to perform at least a subset of the first set of functions towards the source cell based on detection of at least one of the second set of preconfigured trigger conditions.
Communication of vehicle-to-everything support of a cell between base stations
A first base station receives, from a second base station, a message comprising at least one parameter of a first cell of the second base station. The at least one parameter indicates that the first cell supports at least one vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service. A handover decision for a wireless device is made. The first base station sends, to the second base station, a handover request for the wireless device based on the handover decision and the message.
Obtaining distributed unit's configuration information by a central unit of a base station
A method is presented in which a central unit of a distributed base station apparatus in a cellular communication system sends to a distributed unit of the distributed base station apparatus a first message comprising an information element for requesting the distributed unit of the distributed base station to provide a current distributed unit configuration. The central unit receives, from the distributed unit of the distributed base station apparatus, configuration information for the current distributed unit configuration in a second message sent in response to the first message.

Cellular telecommunications network
The invention relates to a method in a cellular telecommunications network, the method including discovering a second donor base station having a first interface for communicating with the first central base station unit and a second interface for wirelessly communicating with the distributed base station unit; determining a capacity of a connection between the central base station unit and the distributed base station unit via the second donor base station; determining that the capacity of the connection satisfies a functional split threshold; and, in response to this determination, causing the centralized base station unit and the distributed base station unit to implement a second functional split in which a third set of protocol functions are implemented in the distributed base station unit and a fourth set of protocol functions are implemented in the central base station unit; and initiating a handover of the distributed base station unit from the first donor base station to the second donor base station.
