Relay node, a donor radio base station and methods therein

Embodiments herein relate to a method in a relay node (10) for acquiring information about a type of a radio network connection between a donor radio base station (12) and a radio base station (14). The relay node (10) and the donor radio base station (12) are comprised in a radio communications network and the donor radio base station (12) is serving the relay node (10). The relay node (10) receives a message from the donor radio base station (12), which message is indicating a type of radio network application protocol, which type is related to a type of the radio network connection between the donor radio base station (12) and the radio base station (14). The relay node (10) determines the type of the radio network connection based on the type of radio network application protocol indicated in the message. The relay node (10) also stores the type of radio network connection in relation to the radio base station (14) for selecting the type of radio network connection when later communicating with the radio base station (14).

Method and apparatus for cell update while in an enhanced cell—FACH state

A method and apparatus for cell update while in a Cell_FACH state are disclosed. After selecting a target cell, system information is read from the target cell including high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) common system information. A radio network temporary identity (RNTI) received in a source cell is cleared and a variable HS_DSCH_RECEPTION is set to TRUE. An HS-DSCH medium access control (MAC-hs) entity is configured based on the HS-DSCH common system information. High speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) transmission is then received in the target cell. A CELL UPDATE message is sent to notify of a cell change. The HSDPA transmission may be received using a common H-RNTI broadcast in the system information, a reserved H-RNTI as requested in a CELL UPDATE message, or a temporary identity which is a subset of a U-RNTI. The MAC-hs entity may be reset.

Method of transmitting message at user equipment in wireless communication system and apparatus thereof

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is described. The UE includes a receiver, a processor and a transmitter. The receiver is configured to receive a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) counting request message through a first cell of a network. The processor is configured to determine whether or not to transmit a MBMS counting response message in response to the MBMS counting request message. The transmitter is configured to transmit the MBMS counting response message if it is determined to transmit the MBMS counting response message. The processor is further configured to determine to transmit the MBMS counting response message if a registered-public land mobile network (R-PLMN) identity is included in system information broadcast by the network.

Adapting mobile device behavior using predictive mobility

Methods, systems, and devices are described for adjusting at least one channel parameter based on accessed historical channel information associated with mobility patterns of a mobile device. In some examples, a mobile device or a base station may access historical channel information associated with mobility patterns of the mobile device or another mobile device. The mobility patterns may include information relative to a particular time and location of a mobile device, a previously traveled route by a mobile device, etc. Based on the historical channel information associated with the mobility patterns, the mobile device or the base station may adjust a channel parameter to improve communication performance across the particular channel.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND COMMUNICATION TERMINAL DEVICE

A communication system includes a plurality of base stations, and a communication terminal device configured to perform radio communication with the plurality of base stations. Each of the plurality of base stations includes a plurality of distributed units (DUs) configured to perform radio communication with the communication terminal device, and a central unit (CU) configured to control the plurality of DUs. When the communication terminal device selects a connection target DU, the communication terminal device preferentially selects the DU belonging to an immediately preceding CU being the CU to which the DU having been connected in an immediately preceding case belongs over the DU belonging to another CU.

Resolving Frequency Conflicts Among Multiple Network Operators

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device avoiding reselection or handover to cells of different operators. The wireless device may attach to a first base station of a first network operator. The wireless device may determine that a neighboring base station is associated with a second network operator. Based on determining the neighboring base station is associated with the second network operator, the wireless device may exclude the third base station from handover or reselection.
