A system and method for providing multi-services within a communication network according to various exemplary embodiments can include storing, in a database of a computer, user-defined sets of rules and instructions for providing multi-services to end user devices connected to a communication network comprising a Hybrid Fiber-Wireless (HFW) network having policy management capabilities. The system and method can receive, at one or more processors, the user-defined sets of rules and instructions from a plurality of end users via a plurality of end user devices. The system and method can configure a virtual network for each end user within the communication network using the policy management capabilities based on the user-defined sets of rules and instructions provided by each end user. The user-defined sets of rules and instructions define provisioning and delivery of resources and services provided by the communication network to the end user.

Methods and Apparatuses for User Distribution over Multiple Mobile Networks

The embodiments herein relate to a network device, a network node, a mobile device and respective method. The network device is configured to receive from a network node of each network provider information including a percentage of network utilization and based on that information determine a list including information on network providers to which mobile devices may connect to in the event of an emergency. The network providers being comprised in a given geographical area and connected to the network device.

Mobile communications method and system for signalling information relating to network's capabilities

Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting information from a serving network element to a mobile terminal in a mobile communications network. The serving network element transmits indication indicating whether a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) via packet switched (PS) session is supported, to the mobile terminal, via an eNode B, during one of a tracking area updating (TAU) procedure and an attach procedure. A Voice Call Continuity (VCC) capability of the mobile terminal is received from the mobile terminal. It is determined whether or not to anchor a call based on the received VCC capability of the mobile terminal. The indication is determined based on a capability of the serving network element.

CONTINUOUS COMMUNICATION FOR PRIORITIZED USER DEVICE APPLICATIONS
20180167858 · 2018-06-14 ·

Continuous communication during network handovers may ensure the sending and receiving of mission-critical data by over-the-top (OTT) applications is performed without interruption using multiple communication networks. A request from an OTT application to establish a communication session with an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core of a wireless carrier network for routing communication traffic to the IMS core may be received. Subsequently, an access point name (APN) designated by an APN parameter of the OTT application may be determined. Accordingly, in response to a determination that the APN parameter designates a continuous link APN, the communication traffic may be routed via a communication session that seamlessly switches between a continuous link APN bearer on a radio access network of the wireless carrier network and a continuous link APN tunnel on a remote network that connects to an Evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG) of the wireless carrier network.

RESTRICTING BROADCAST AND MULTICAST TRAFFIC IN A WIRELESS NETWORK TO A VLAN
20180152425 · 2018-05-31 ·

Traffic broadcast to a VLAN is restricted. To do so, a plurality of stations are associated with a BSSID (basic service set identifier). A first VLAN is configured by sending a first group key to each station from the plurality of stations that is a member of the first VLAN, wherein each VLAN is associated with a unique group key. One or more frames addressed to the first VLAN are received. The one or more frames are encrypted with the first group key to prevent stations without the first group key from being able to decrypt the one or more frames. The one or more encrypted VLAN frames are broadcast to the plurality of stations associated with the BSSID.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING DYNAMIC CONTROL PLANE SIGNALING OF VIRTUAL CELL
20180132246 · 2018-05-10 ·

Provided are a method and system for transmitting dynamic control plane signaling of a virtual cell. The method includes: selecting, by a transmitting end, a base station from a base station set constituting the virtual cell as a channel through which a control plane signaling is transmitted; and transmitting, by the transmitting end, the control plane signaling to a receiving end via the selected base station.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to communication over a network comprising network slices. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, there provide a method performed by a network node. The method comprises: informing, in response to determination that user traffic of at least one user equipment needs to be redirected from a first network slice to a second network slice, a control plane function node supporting the first network slice of a redirecting user traffic request. Compared with the second network slice, a way of handling a control plane and/or user plane for communication services in the second network slice is different from that in the first network slice. In the other aspects of the present disclosure, there also provides methods for communication by a control plane function node and by a user equipment and corresponding apparatuses.

SESSION CONTINUITY FOR 3GPP AND NON-3GPP INTERWORKING
20240397389 · 2024-11-28 ·

A method for S-NSSAI handling of a 5GS capable UE supporting session continuity between 3GPP and non-3GPP interworking is proposed. The UE maintains a PDN connection/PDU session. The UE performs interworking among S1 mode, N1 mode (including 3GPP and non-3GPP access), and ePDG. The UE associates the existing S-NSSAI with the new PDN connection/PDU session after interworking, no matter whether the S-NSSAI is provided by the network or not. The UE can update the S-NSSAI upon receipt of new value from the network. When interwork to N1 mode, the UE applies the S-NSSAI.
