A user communications device having active and idle states operates in a cellular communications network in which user communications devices communicate via network communications devices of cells of the network. History data identifying the cells in which the user communications device has been present whilst in the idle state is maintained. This history data is used by the user communications device or by a network communications device to enable adjustment of cell selection/reselection parameters for the user communications device in the active state.

Distributed unit (DU) failover techniques for high reliability virtualized radio access network architectures

Techniques presented herein may provide Distributed Unit (DU) failover techniques for a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) architecture. In one example, a method may include maintaining, by a management node for a vRAN, service information for a plurality of distributed unit components for the vRAN in which the service information identifies, at least in part, service characteristics and failover rules for the vRAN. The method may further include determining a failure of a particular DU component of the plurality of DU components; and reassigning one or more particular RUs currently assigned to the particular DU component to one or more other DU components based on the service characteristics maintained in the service information and particular failover rules identified in the service information that are associated with each of the one or more particular RUs that are re-assigned.

Methods and systems of an all purpose broadband network with publish subscribe broker network

An example system includes a cellular base transceiver station having an RF coverage area and configured for RF communication with a first entity that is a transceiver device in the RF coverage area, wherein the cellular base transceiver station is communicatively connected to a server through a communication network, wherein the server comprises a first publish-subscribe broker that is part of a publish-subscribe broker network that comprises one or more publish-subscribe brokers, wherein a second entity connected to any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers in the publish-subscribe broker network accepts communications from the transceiver device if the second entity subscribes to data packets published by the transceiver device, and wherein the data packets published by the transceiver device are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.

Determining measurement period scaling for measurement gaps in 5G/NR

Embodiments includes methods performed by a user equipment, LT, to schedule a plurality of mutually-exclusive repetitive measurement activities in a wireless network. Such embodiments include receiving, from a network node serving the UE, a measurement configuration comprising: least one measurement timing configuration for each of a plurality of mutually exclusive repetitive measurement activities; and identification of a measurement gap pattern for performing the measurement activities. Such embodiments also include selecting an analysis period for a measurement schedule, and determining, over the analysis period, measurement load information related to the measurement configuration. Such embodiments also include determining, based on the measurement load information, a measurement time scaling factor and a scaled measurement time for each measurement activity. Some embodiments include determining a measurement schedule and/or performing measurements based on the scaled measurement time. Embodiments also include methods performed by network nodes, and UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.
