Communication Method and Apparatus
20230142002 · 2023-05-11 ·

This application discloses a communication method. When determining that a network used to provide a service does not meet a transmission requirement of service data, a terminal device requests, from a PCF, an SMF, or an NWADF, to analyze a reason why the network does not meet the transmission requirement of the service data. The PCF, the SMF, or the NWADF obtains information used to recover a service, and sends the information to a device that performs a service recovery operation, for example, the terminal device or an access network device. The information used to recover the service is used to enable the network to meet the transmission requirement of the service data.

User equipment (UE) assisted termination selection for non-standalone or dual connectivity

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may determine a preference of the UE for a termination point between a core network and a radio access network (RAN), the core network and the RAN supporting communications for the UE via at least one or a first cell and a second cell each associated with a multi-connectivity mode of the UE. The UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of the preference of the UE for the termination point. In some cases, the base station may determine the termination point based on receiving the indication of the preference of the UE, and the base station may transmit a message indicating a configuration for the multi-connectivity mode to the UE, the configuration indicating the determined termination point.

Differentiated mobility schemes and neighbor lists

One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for implementing differentiated mobility schemes are provided. In an example, a communication device may be identified as being connected with a first base station. A selection criterion may be identified based upon a characteristic associated with the communication device. A mobility scheme may be selected from a set of mobility schemes based upon the selection criterion. One or more thresholds of the mobility scheme may be communicated to the communication device.

A Method for Controlling Multipoint TCP in Wireless Communications Networks and Devices for Use Therein

A method in a wireless terminal operating in a 3GPP wireless communications network for controlling using MPTCP with a WLAN network, The method comprises receiving from the 3GPP wireless communications network system information comprising a condition for MPTCP with a WLAN network, the condition being associated with mobility characteristics of the wireless terminal. The method further comprises determining a parameter indicative of mobility characteristics of the wireless terminal and disabling MPTCP with a WLAN network if the parameter indicative of mobility characteristics indicates that mobility of the wireless terminal is at or above a value defined in the condition.

Handover enhancement for user equipment application layer traffic carried over a mobile network

In an embodiment, there is provided a method for handover enhancement for User Equipment UE application layer traffic carried over a mobile network, said method comprising at least one step based on informing said UE of a traffic path change in said mobile network due to said handover, requiring action at application layer level.

Channel Bonding Design and Signaling in Wireless Communications
20170366329 · 2017-12-21 ·

Systems and techniques relating to wireless communications are described. A transmitter for a wireless local area network (WLAN) identifies a channel bonding mode out of a number of channel bonding modes. The channel bonding mode includes two or more available channels used by the transmitter for data transmission in the WLAN, and the two or more available channels indicating at least one busy channel not used by the transmitter for data transmission. The channel bonding mode is signaled to a receiver using a bandwidth field of a legacy signal field that is duplicated across respective channels used in the WLAN, the legacy signal field being in a preamble portion of a frame. The frame is transmitted to the receiver, wherein the frame includes a data portion of the frame that occupies the two or more available channels according to the channel bonding mode.

MANAGEMENT OF CELLULAR DATA USAGE DURING DENIAL OF SERVICE (DOS) ATTACKS

Systems and methods for managing data usage of a cellular modem during DoS/DDoS attacks are provided. According to one embodiment, a network security device of a private network detects a DoS attack in network traffic going through the network security device and determines whether the DoS attack is being transmitted through a cellular modem of a cellular data network. The network security device reduces data usage of the cellular modem when the DoS attack is detected and the DoS attack being is transmitted through the cellular modem.
