Embodiments of the present invention provide a wireless communications method, apparatus, and system. A terminal is provided. The terminal sets up a connection to a first base station, and stays in always connected mode. Therefore, when the terminal moves in a dense network, handovers of the first base station can be reduced. Further, when the terminal moves in the dense network, frequent signaling interaction is reduced, paging load in the entire network is reduced, and an end-to-end delay in service setup and transmission is reduced.

Apparatus and methods of whitespace communication

The described apparatus and methods provide communication services utilizing a combination of non-white space (NWS) and white space (WS) networks. For example, in an aspect, the described apparatus and methods receive, at a first base station (BS) and on a licensed frequency, a communication request for network access from a wireless access terminal (AT). The aspects also determine at least one available unlicensed frequency corresponding to a location of the wireless AT. Further, the aspects partition at least a portion of the network access for the wireless AT to be via the at least one available unlicensed frequency. Additionally, the aspects inform the wireless AT of the at least one available unlicensed frequency for use to obtain at least the portion of the network access. Additional aspects relate to NWS BS assisted handoffs of WS calls, dynamic caching of WS information, peer-to-peer WS communication, and WS BS venue-specific broadcasting.

THERMAL MITIGATION ENHANCEMENT

Disclosed are techniques for performing thermal mitigation for one or more devices. For instance, a temperature, humidity, amount of light, and/or other characteristic or factor associated with a vehicle can be obtained. Whether to transition one or more communication functions from the vehicle to a user device can be determined based on the temperature, humidity, etc. In response to a determination to transition the one or more communication functions, the one or more communication functions can be transitioned from a communication unit of the vehicle to a communication unit of the user device.

RADIO BASE STATION AND RADIO TERMINAL

A radio base station according to an embodiment constitutes a mobile communication network. The radio base station comprises: a controller configured to measure a stay time for which a radio terminal has stayed on a wireless LAN. The stay time is a period from when a first process through which the radio terminal switches a waiting destination or a connection destination from the mobile communication network to the wireless LAN is performed to when a second process through which the radio terminal switches the waiting destination or the connection destination from the wireless LAN to the mobile communication network is performed.
