Channel quality information feedback techniques

Various embodiments are generally directed to improved channel quality information feedback techniques. In one embodiment, for example, an evolved node B (eNB) may comprise a processor circuit, a communication component for execution by the processor circuit to receive a channel quality index for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the channel quality index associated with a defined reference resource, and a selection component for execution by the processor circuit to select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmission over the PDSCH of user equipment (UE) data in one or more resource blocks, the selection component to compensate for a difference between a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) overhead of the defined reference resource and a CRS overhead of the one or more resource blocks when selecting the MCS. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

DEVICE ONBOARDING USING CELLULAR DATA SERVICES DIRECTORY

An approach to automatically provision a data service name (APN or DNN) when an endpoint device connects to a mobile network is described. A methodology includes receiving from an endpoint device a first request to connect to a mobile network, the first request including an identifier of the endpoint device and a default data service name, responsive to detecting the default data service name, determining, from the identifier of the endpoint device, a group to which the endpoint device belongs along with a corresponding group identifier for the group, querying a repository with the group identifier, and receiving, in response, an assigned data service name that is associated with the group identifier, providing the assigned data service name to the endpoint device, and receiving from the endpoint device a second request to connect to the mobile network, the second request including the assigned data service name.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CO-ORDINATING UNAVAILABILITY PERIOD PARAMETER OF UE IN WIRELESS NETWORK

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for coordinating an unavailability period parameter of User Equipment (UE) in wireless network is provided. The method includes determining, by an Application Function (AF) of a network apparatus in the wireless network, the unavailability period parameter for the UE based on at least one event to be performed at the UE. Further, the method includes sending, by the AF of the network apparatus, the unavailability period parameter for the UE to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) of the network apparatus. Further, the method includes configuring the unavailability period parameter at the UE. In an embodiment, UE detects it has to execute the event, UE initiates a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure to indicate it will become unavailable by indicating the unavailability period parameter to the 5th generation core (5GC), 5GC forwards the unavailability period parameter to the AF, with this the co-ordination between UE, 5GC and AF is achieved.
