A filling density of the pre-treatment filter and a filling density of the main filter, with respect to a target blood throughput of the blood filter, are 0.1 g/100 ml to 1 g/100 ml and 1 g/100 ml to 3 g/100 ml, respectively.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR UTILIZING CROSSFLOW FILTRATION FOR CELL ENRICHMENT
A disposable cell enrichment kit includes a crossflow filtration device configured to be disposed along a main loop pathway and to receive a process volume containing a biological sample and utilize crossflow filtration, via a micro-porous membrane, to retain a specific cell population in a retentate from the process volume and to remove a permeate including certain biological components from the process volume. The crossflow filtration device includes a laminated filtration unit that includes the micro-porous membrane, a first mating portion, a second mating portion, and a membrane support. The membrane support includes a first plurality of structural features that define a first plurality of openings, wherein the first plurality of structural features are coupled to the micro-porous membrane and provide support to the micro-porous membrane, and the first plurality of openings allow the permeate to flow through them after crossing the micro-porous membrane.
Blood Treatment With Inactivation Of Circulating Nucleic Acids
The present invention relates to a device for the treatment of blood comprising a solid phase on which a polypeptide is immobilized which is suitable for the inactivation of free nucleic acids. Suitable polypeptides are, for example, deoxyribonucleases, ribonucleases, DNA methyltransferases or cytosine deaminases. The invention further comprises the use of such devices for the treatment of patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, cancer or lupus erythematosus, as well as methods and systems for the treatment of blood, wherein free nucleic acids are inactivated outside the body.
FLUID TREATMENT METHOD AND FLUID TREATMENT DEVICE
A fluid treatment method, a fluid treatment device, a cycle separation device, a cycle treatment system, a medical device, and a computer readable storage medium are provided. The fluid treatment method intercepts the target substance in the fluid, and cyclically enriches the target substance in the enrichment pipeline. In a cycle enrichment mode, the flow rate at the inlet is equal to that of the outlet in the enrichment pipeline so as to dynamically balance a total amount of the fluid in the enrichment pipeline. The present disclosure treats the fluid sustainably, collect particular components of the fluid, and a fluid discharged from the first outlet of the enrichment pipeline is introduced into the treatment module or is returned to an original system. The present disclosure effectively avoids continuous loss of beneficial components when filtering out harmful components in the process of component separation/exchange of the fluid through membrane separation.
IMPLANTABLE RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY
Various types of a medical device are described which is used as an implantable renal replacement therapy (an implantable artificial kidney). This device removes toxins and excess water from blood of patients with kidney failure or end stage renal disease. Additionally, other configurations of the device can be used as an external (extracorporeal) device.

Portable Ultrafiltration Unit And Device For Supplying The Ultrafiltration Unit With Dialysis Fluid
The invention relates to a portable ultrafiltration unit A which comprises a blood pump 7 for conveying blood and an ultrafiltration pump 6 for conveying ultrafiltrate. The invention further relates to a stationary device B for supplying dialysate to the portable ultrafiltration unit A, and to a medical treatment system which comprises an ultrafiltration unit and a device for supplying dialysate to the ultrafiltration unit. The ultrafiltration unit according to the invention is in the form of a unit to be connected to a stationary device for supplying dialysate to the ultrafiltration unit, in such a way that a fluid connection can be established for feeding in fresh dialysate and removing used dialysate. As a result, the ultrafiltration unit can not only be used for ultrafiltration, but also, when used in conjunction with the stationary device for supplying dialysate to the ultrafiltration unit, for a blood treatment as carried out by a conventional blood treatment device. It is merely necessary to connect the ultrafiltration unit A to the device B for supplying dialysate to the ultrafiltration unit. There is no need to detach the patient connections 27A, 27B of the venous and arterial blood lines 27, 28 or to attach said connections to the patient, as result of which the preparation time for a blood treatment can be reduced.
Combination kidney and liver dialysis system and method
A combination kidney and liver dialysis system and method provides a portable, lightweight hemodialysis device that removes uremic toxins, hepatic toxins, water, and impurities from the blood. The method comprises separating the blood into a plasma portion and a cellular portion, immediately returning the cellular portion to the body, providing large volumes of replacement fluids, diluting the plasma portion with replacement fluids, and then manipulating the plasma portion of the blood to pass through hemoperfusion membranes, hemodiafiltration membranes, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation membranes. Dialysis is performed on the plasma portion of the blood with an albumin dialyzer against an albumin dialysate and a high molecular weight cut off membrane. Dialysis is performed on the plasma portion of blood with a lipid dialysate comprising 10-30% lipid composition, and a high flux dialyzer.
