STATIC IP HANDLING PER ACCESS POINT NAME
A cellular communication system uses a policy control rule function (PCRF) to allow or deny a particular user or user group access to a given access point name (APN). An allowed APN may support static IP address assignment for that user/user group. By restricting requested APNs via a test in the PCRF, frequent changes to the user's home service server (HSS)/home location registry (HLR) supporting static IP address can be avoided while ensuring that designated users will have access to an APN that supports the needed IP address pool.
Systems and methods for secure automated network attachment
A method for automatically attaching a purpose-built electronic device to a provider network includes steps of discovering, by a Wi-Fi module of the purpose-built electronic device, a wireless data network in operable communication with the provider network selecting, by the Wi-Fi module, the wireless data network, transmitting a primary authentication certificate from the Wi-Fi module to an authentication, authorization, and accounting server of the provider network, receiving, by an application server of the provider network, a secondary authentication certificate from a functionality module of the purpose-built electronic device authenticating, by the provider network, the primary and secondary authentication certificates, and attaching the purpose-built device to the provider network.
NETWORK-CONTROLLED WTRU ADDRESS/ANCHOR SELECTION
A method and apparatus are provided to enable or aid network-controlled selection of an IP address (and anchor) to be used by a WTRU on an application/service basis. In one example, a method is provided for a WTRU to establish a link with a gateway, transmit a query related to a selected application via the gateway, receive an advertisement for an internet protocol (IP) address, and use the IP address to communicate via the gateway with respect to the selected application. It may be assumed that there are more than one possible IP address/anchor available for the WTRU to use, as it might be the case in a mobility environment, in which an operator can provide addresses with different mobility capabilities.
Terminal apparatus, base station apparatus, mobility management entity (MME), and communication control method
Provided is a communication procedure for data transmission and/or reception suitable for a Network Slice and a DeCOR. One or a plurality of Network Slices are included in a core network managed by the network operator, the Network Slice is configured of one or a plurality of Network Functions, and based on registration information of a terminal apparatus or a request of the terminal apparatus, the terminal apparatus performs processing to connect to the one or the plurality of Network Slices corresponding to a service or an application. Furthermore, based on an authentication result from the network, the terminal apparatus performs processing to connect to a supplemental Network Slice.
INTERNET ACCESS INDICATION IN PRIVATE LTE NETWORKS AND NEUTRAL HOST NETWORKS
A Radio Access Network (RAN) element provides an internet indication to a User Equipment (UE) to enable the UE to quickly obtain internet access. The RAN element determines that the RAN element is connected to at least one gateway that provides public internet access, and broadcasts an internet indication. The RAN element determines that the UE has requested public internet access via the RAN element and provides the UE with public internet access.
Method and system for load balancing of sensors
A method for balancing sensors within a sensor system, the method including receiving, at a gateway, data from a plurality of sensors, each of the plurality of sensors being connected to one of a plurality of sensor modules or the gateway; determining, at the gateway, that a signal strength from a first sensor falls below a threshold, the first sensor being one of the plurality of sensors; and based on the determining, allocating the first sensor to connect to a different one of the plurality of sensor modules, or to the gateway if connected to one of the plurality of sensor modules.
Methods, Systems and Wireless Communication Devices for Handling Cloud Computing Resources
A method is disclosed for handling cloud computing resources in a wireless communication network comprising a first and a second access subnetwork providing wireless access to wireless communication devices residing in a first and a second geographic area, respectively, and a first and a second cloud computing resource connected to the first and the second access subnetwork, respectively. The method comprises obtaining mobility information over a time period for the wireless communication devices of when, during the time period, each of the devices has wireless access to the communication network via the first access subnetwork and when they have wireless access to the communication network via the second access subnetwork. The method also comprises selecting which of the first or second cloud computing resource that is to serve each of the devices based on the obtained mobility information, and sending an instruction to each of the devices to connect to a server that is connected to the selected cloud computing resource for that wireless communication device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAINTAINING SEAMLESS MOBILE DATA COMMUNICATION USING INTELLIGENT WAN INTERFACE SWITCHING
This disclosure is directed to providing a seamless and secure connection between an electronic device (e.g., a mobile device such as a cellular phone) and a network during network switching. A device (e.g., a network interface card) may be used to hold SIM card stacks or embedded SIM (eSIM) stacks and intelligently and automatically configure network interfaces to maintain seamless and secure data link connection during network switching, thus providing the electronic device connection to networks with enhanced or optimized quality of service (QoS).
MULTI-CARRIER RADIO POINT FOR A CENTRALIZED RADIO ACCESS NETWORK
One embodiment is directed to a multi-carrier radio point for use in a radio access network (RAN). The multi-carrier radio point is configured so that some of the processing and hardware resources provided by the radio point can be assigned to baseband units (BBUs) in a flexible manner. A single multi-carrier radio point can be used with multiple BBUs, where the processing and hardware resources used for the multiple BBUs need not be configured and used in the same way.
METHOD FOR STREAMING DYNAMIC 5G AR/MR EXPERIENCE TO 5G DEVICES WITH UPDATABLE SCENES
A method is provided. The method includes selecting media content including a full scene description, selecting a 5.sup.th generation (5G) media streaming downlink (5GMSd) application server (AS) to stream the media content based on the full scene description, deriving a simplified scene description based on the full scene description, and creating an augmented reality (AR)/mixed reality (MR) session based on the simplified scene description.
