Node selection in network transitions
The present disclosure relates to methods, systems and apparatuses for transferring a user equipment (UE) connected to a first network (e.g., a LTE network) to a second network (e.g., a Wireless Local Area Network, or WLAN). In particular, the present disclosure teaches methods, systems and apparatuses for selecting and connecting the UE to a gateway (e.g., an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG)) and a network apparatus (e.g., a packet data network gateway (PGW)). By sending the IP address of the gateway and the network apparatus to the UE before the UE disconnects from the first network (e.g., via a Protocol Configuration Option (PCO) message), the UE is able to connect to the gateway and network apparatus directly without consulting a DNS server or a Home Subscriber Server. These techniques can be useful when no DNS server is available and in virtualized, cloud-based networks.
Program for adjusting channel interference between access points in a wireless network
The performance and ease of management of wireless communications environments is improved by a mechanism that enables access points (APs) to perform automatic channel selection. A wireless network can therefore include multiple APs, each of which will automatically choose a channel such that channel usage is optimized. Furthermore, APs can perform automatic power adjustment so that multiple APs can operate on the same channel while minimizing interference with each other. Wireless stations are load balanced across APs so that user bandwidth is optimized. A movement detection scheme provides seamless roaming of stations between APs.
Role Assignment for Caching
A system, method, and computer program are disclosed to provide an ad-hoc network of network nodes of caching content at the network nodes. A coordination server performing as a manager or controller determines the network node to cache content for a group of user equipments (UEs) attached to a first base station. The coordination server reassigns the network node that cache the content for the group of UEs when a user equipment (UE) moves from the first base station to a second base station.
MECHANISM TO ENABLE CONNECTIVITY SESSIONS AND IP SESSION ESTABLISHMENT
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus enabling connectivity session and internet protocol (IP) establishment. An exemplary method generally generating a request to establish at least one data network (DN) session for providing connectivity between the UE and a DN, wherein the at least one DN session supports a plurality of data sessions for enabling communication between one or more local endpoints in the UE and one or more endpoints in the DN, wherein each data session of the plurality of data sessions supports one or more connectivity requirements specified by the UE, wherein a first data session of the plurality of data sessions is associated with a first gateway, and wherein a second data session of the plurality of data sessions is associated with a second gateway, and transmitting the request to establish the at least one DN session.
METHOD FOR REPORTING CHANNEL STATUS INFORMATION ON LICENSE ASSISTED ACCESS BASED CELL
Provided is a method for reporting channel status information (CSI) on a license assisted access (LAA) based cell, the method comprising: receiving a configuration of a CSI report; considering that a periodic CSI report is not configured for the LAA based cell although the configuration of the CSI report is received; and if the LAA based cell is configured and if the number of CSI measuring processes is equal to or greater than a predetermined number Ny at a first subframe, not updating measurement for the CSI report at the first subframe.
Optimizing capacity expansion in a mobile network
Systems and methods of optimizing capacity of network equipment in mobile networks. A computing device receives a user identification and a user attribute, the user identification corresponding to a characteristic of the mobile network user, the user attribute corresponding to at least one characteristic of mobile network usage by the mobile network user. The computing device generates a usage prediction based on the user identification and the user attribute, the usage prediction including information corresponding to anticipated future data usage of the mobile network user, the anticipated future mobile network usage corresponding to at least one mobile resource. The computing device transmits the usage prediction to a serving gateway (SGW) such that the SGW routes the mobile network user to one of a legacy packet data network gateway (PGW) and a network function virtualization (NFV) PGW based on the usage prediction.
LAYER 2 REMOTE RADIO HEAD CONFIGURATION
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a remote radio head may transmit, during a user equipment (UE) RRH discovery procedure with a UE, an RRH identifier to the UE for reporting to a base station (BS) associated with the RRH and the UE; receive, from the BS, communication configuration information based at least in part on transmitting the RRH identifier, wherein the communication configuration information includes at least one of scheduling information or configuration information; and communicate with the UE in accordance with the communication configuration information. Numerous other aspects are provided.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RELAY UTILIZING SIDELINK IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A relaying method, performed by a relay terminal using sidelink in a communication system, may comprise: receiving a plurality of data units from a plurality of remote terminals; generating a multiplexed data unit including identification information of the plurality of remote terminals and the plurality of data units; and transmitting the multiplexed data unit to a base station, wherein the identification information includes a terminal identifier used to identify each of the plurality of remote terminals.
Methods and apparatus for registering network identifiers and/or taking different actions based on the type of network identifier being registered or reported
The present disclosure describes systems and methods for providing differentiated actions associated with predetermined types of SSIDs, as determined by a registry computing service. Embodiments include registry databases, SSID transmitters, and WED's connected through the cloud, having a hardware configuration suitable for communicating wirelessly. Hardware of the registry service may execute any number of modules, including SSID Databases, Parsing Modules, Registration Modules, and Query Handling Modules, among others. Suitable SSID databases may store a set of SSIDs, SSID types, and SSID substrings associated with the SSID types. Methods described here include registration processes and processes for providing a WED differentiated actions associated with an SSID. If the registry determines that the SSID matches an SSID in the SSID database, the WED and SSID transmitter may take actions associated with the SSID. Otherwise, the WED and SSID transmitter may take actions defined to be the default actions for an SSID.
Telecommunications networks
A method of configuring a telecommunications network comprising the steps of collecting analytics data from a network (NAD) and analytics data (TAD) from at least one User Equipment (UE), analyzing said NAD and TAD and configuring at least one network feature according to the NAD and the TAD.
