On-Demand Enabling of Functional Entities in Cellular Modem for Power Saving
A user equipment (UE) is configured to power on a primary module of a cellular modem to perform signal processing operations for the UE, the primary module having first signal processing capabilities, detect an occurrence of an event, wherein the event indicates a change in network operations to be performed by the UE, determine event information indicating whether the change in network operations may use more signal processing capabilities than the primary module is able to perform, determine, based on the event information, a power state to be used for a secondary module of the cellular modem, wherein secondary module has second signal processing capabilities and is configured to perform further signal processing operations for the UE, and change a current power state for the secondary module when the determined power state is different from the current power state.
DEVICE PERFORMANCE WHEN T312 CONFIGURED
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support enhanced management of recovery timers in a wireless communication system. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes an apparatus determining whether a recovery timer is currently running, the apparatus being configured for multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) communications including a first subscription and a second subscription. The apparatus is further configured to tune away from the first subscription to the second subscription when the recovery timer is determined not to be currently running, and determine to forego tuning away from the first subscription to the second subscription when the recovery timer is determined to be currently running. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
Method and UE for handling mobility procedure for UE
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein disclose a method performed by a terminal in a mobile communication system. The method includes performing a registration procedure on a first standalone non-public network (SNPN), selecting a second SNPN based on a predetermined condition, and transmitting, to a network entity, a registration request message on the second SNPN for an initial registration, in case that the second SNPN differs from the first SNPN.
METHOD AND SYSTEM TO DETERMINE SERVICE IN INCOMING MESSAGE
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The present subject matter refers to a method for a user equipment (UE) including a multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes registering to a public land mobile network (PLMN) on both of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) access network and a non-3GPP access network, receiving, from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a message while the 3GPP access network is in an idle state, in case that the message is received over the 3GPP access network, identifying the message is related to a voice service and in case that the message is received over the non-3GPP access network, identifying that the message is related to a non-voice service.
METHOD FOR PERFORMING COMMUNICATION USING MULTIPLE USIMS AND DEVICE THEREFOR
Provided are a method and a device for performing communication by a UE with multiple USIMs that are in operation at the same time. The method may include determining, in a state of concurrent registration to one or more networks associated with multiple USIMs, release of one or more networks in a connected state, transmitting assistance information for instructing release to a base station or a core network control plane entity, and monitoring a paging message based on the assistance information.
COMMUNICATION METHOD AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS
This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus, to flexibly enable an MUSIM feature. This helps save network resources. The method includes: A terminal device determines first indication information based on states of a plurality of universal subscriber identity modules USIMs, where the first indication information indicates to enable or disable a paging enhancement function, and/or enable or disable a paging occasion collision avoidance function, and the terminal device includes the plurality of USIMs; and sends the first indication information to an access and mobility management function AMF. Therefore, the terminal device determines whether to enable or disable the MUSIM feature, and notifies, by using the first indication information, the AMF of whether to enable or disable the MUSIM feature, so that the AMF performs a corresponding operation based on content indicated by the first indication information.
INFORMATION INDICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE
The embodiments of this application provide an information indication method and apparatus and a communication device, and relate to the technical field of wireless communication. The information indication method applied to the terminal includes: sending first information to a network device of a first network; where the first information is used for at least one of the following: indicating that the terminal enters an unreachable state; indicating that the terminal stops receiving or cannot receive all data from the first network; indicating that the terminal stops receiving or cannot receive downlink data and/or paging from the first network; indicating that the terminal cannot respond to paging of the first network; indicating that the terminal cannot initiate location update; and requesting to buffer or delete data about the terminal in the first network.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PAGING HANDLING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a paging handling in wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a wireless device in a wireless communication system comprises: registering to a first network and a second network; establishing a connection with the first network; receiving, from the first network, information for a release timer; starting the release timer after receiving a paging from the second network; and upon an expiry of the release timer: releasing the connection with the first network without receiving a radio resource control (RRC) release message from the first network; and establishing a connection with the second network based on the paging from the second network.
DUAL SUBSCRIBER COEXISTENCE MANAGEMENT
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain one or more parameters associated with a dual subscriber operation of the UE that includes communicating using a first subscriber entity and a second subscriber entity. The UE may transmit one or more uplink communications via one or more of the first subscriber entity or the second subscriber entity using a coexistence management configuration that is based at least in part on the one or more parameters. Numerous other aspects are described.
Staggered IMS bearer activation and radio bearer activation in 5G non-standalone networks
Devices, systems, and methods relate to performing Internet Protocol (IP) Media Subsystem (IMS) bearer activation and radio bearer activation at different times. In some embodiments, a radio bearer is activated after the IMS bearer is activated. The radio bearer that is activated after the IMS bearer is activated may utilize a different Radio Access Technology (RAT) than an initial radio bearer. In certain instances, a device initiates activation of the radio bearer upon receiving confirmation that the IMS bearer is activated, or initiates activation of the radio bearer a predetermined period of time after initiating activation of the IMS bearer. In various embodiments, staggered IMS bearer activation and radio bearer activation can prevent collisions at components of an Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
