A wireless communications system operating in a coverage area of a wireless network includes a radiofrequency (RF) front end and a base station coupled to the RF front end, the base station receiving signals data from received transmissions from wireless devices; and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having encoded thereon a program of machine instructions executable by a processor in signal communication with the base station. The processor executes the instructions to receive from the base station, the received signals data, process the received signals data to determine a characteristic of the wireless device, determine, based on the characteristic, whether the wireless device is allowed to continue transmissions in the wireless network, controlling the base station to lock the wireless device to the base station when continued transmissions are not allowed, and redirecting the wireless device to attempt access to the wireless network when continued transmissions are allowed.

Service Layer Events in IMS

Methods and apparatus for implementation of an Application Sever, AS, (300), a Serving Call Session Control Function, S-CSCF, (200) and a Home Subscriber Server, HSS, (100) in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS. A service monitor (318) of the AS monitors usage by one or more user equipments, UE, of one or more services offered in the IMS and an event manager (320) triggers an event, based on the monitored usage, the event comprising an update on at least one of a network operation and a UE operation for the one or more UEs in the IMS. The event manager controls a transmitter (302) to transmit an event notification to the S-CSCF, the event notification including the update on the at least one of a network operation and a UE operation. A registration manager (220) of the S-CSCF triggers an adaptation of the at least one of the network operation and the UE operation based on the received event notification.

Security context handling in 5G during idle mode

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for flexible, security context management during AMF changes. One aspect of the disclosure is a mechanism for achieving backward security during AMF changes in idle mode. Instead of passing the current NAS key to the target AMF, the source AMF derives a new NAS key, provides the new NAS key to the target AMF, along with a key change indication indicating that the NAS key has changed. The target AMF sends the key change indication to the user equipment.

Wireless communications

A method for operating a User Equipment (UE) is disclosed, wherein the UE is served by a source first network function in a first network and requires to register with a target second network function in a second network. The method comprises generating a registration request with integrity protection for at least a part of the registration request (1200), and sending an integrity protected part of the registration request to the source first network function via the target second network function (1202). Also disclosed are methods of operating first and second network functions.

Method for establishing local network connection, terminal and network device

A method for establishing a local network connection, where the method includes: obtaining, by a terminal, broadcast information sent by a base station; if the broadcast information includes a first local data network (LDN) list, determining a target local network identifier based on the first LDN list, where the first LDN list includes at least one local network identifier; and establishing, by the terminal, a session connection using the target local network identifier.

TERRESTRIAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

A method and apparatus for estimating a location using a network function. In the method, at least one positioning apparatus registers to a management function by sending a registration message and transmit a location information message containing an indication of geographic location of said positioning apparatus; the management function gets the at least one positioning apparatus registered according to the received registration message, and sends a response message including information associated with a transmission of the location information message to the at least one positioning apparatus. The location information message is transmitted by the at least one positioning apparatus to a mobile device according to the information included in the response message.

REGISTRATION MANAGEMENT METHOD FOR TERMINAL ACCESSING 5G NETWORK ON NON-3GPP ACCESS
20210258718 · 2021-08-19 ·

A communication technique of fusing a fifth generation (5G) communication for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond a fourth generation (4G) system with an Internet of things (IoT) technology and a system thereof is provided. The technique may be applied to an intelligent service (smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related service, or the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. A method is provided for effectively managing a registration state for a terminal in a 5G core network such as an access and mobility management function (AMF) in a situation of accessing a 5G network via a non-3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) access.
