User equipment reachability after notification in mobile communications
11606767 · 2023-03-14 · ·

Examples pertaining to user equipment (UE) reachability after notification in mobile communications are described. An apparatus (e.g., UE) receives an indication to initiate a notification procedure from a network over a non-3.sup.rd Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) access while a 3GPP access with the network is unavailable. In response, the apparatus transmits a notification response message to the network. After the 3GPP access with the network becomes available, the apparatus indicates to the network that the apparatus is reachable over the 3GPP access.

METHODS TO AVOID SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL SUSPENSION DUE TO MULTI-SUBSCRIBER PAGING OCCASION COLLISION
20230199692 · 2023-06-22 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some user equipment (UE) may be equipped with multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs). A multi-SIM UE may receive a control message at a first SIM which indicates a set of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for receiving SRS according to a first periodicity. The UE may also receive a registration message at a second SIM which includes a first parameter indicating a first set of paging occasions for receiving paging messages in accordance with a second periodicity. The UE may identify a collision in time between the one or more SRS resources and paging resources, and may transmit a registration request message to a base station. The UE may then receive a second registration message which includes a second parameter for calculating a second set of paging occasions that have a third periodicity that are non-overlapping with the SRS resources.

WIRELESS NETWORK CONFIGURATION FOR MULTIPLE ACCESS POINTS
20170359774 · 2017-12-14 ·

A device may receive first information relating to a wireless local area network to be used to communicate with a first access point and one or more second access points. The first information may identify one or more first configuration parameters associated with the first access point. The device may obtain second information from the first access point based on the first information. The second information may identify one or more second configuration parameters associated with the first access point. The one or more second access points, when configured based on the second information, may permit communication via the wireless local area network. The device may provide, to the one or more second access points via the first access point, information for configuring the one or more second access points based on the second information.

UMA/GAN keep-alive mechanism in wireless communication networks

A wireless communication terminal (100) includes a TCP connection keep-alive timer, and a controller configured to optimize keep-alive timer operation by reducing the frequency with which the terminal transmits keep-alive messages. In one implementation, the controller re-sets the keep-alive timer, before expiration thereof, upon sending or receiving a message at the terminal during a TCP connection, wherein the terminal transmits a TCP connection keep-alive message only upon expiration of the keep-alive timer. The terminal may transmit a register request message indicating whether the terminal supports optimized keep-alive timer operation.

Methods, systems, and devices for establishing an active subscription for services of a mobile network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting an expiration of a subscription associated with a communication device, wherein the subscription is for services of a mobile network, and enabling an interim profile that provides the communication device with limited connectivity over the mobile network, wherein the limited connectivity facilitates communication with a subscription manager node of the mobile network. Various embodiments can include communicating with the subscription manager node to establish an active subscription for services of the mobile network and enabling an operational profile comprising subscription information associated with the active subscription. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Communication system

In a communication system, an eNB and a UE transmit and receive a UE monitoring message for confirming the state of the UE in a predetermined UE monitoring period. For example, in UE monitoring periods, a UE monitoring procedure is performed, so that the UE transmits the UE monitoring message to the eNB. Upon receipt of the UE monitoring message, the eNB transmits delivery confirmation information to the UE. The UE monitoring period is set as, for example, a period shorter than a TAU period. This allows the UE monitoring process to confirm the state of the UE even if the TAU period is lengthened. The eNB may transmit the UE monitoring message to the UE.

LOCATION BY REFERENCE FOR AN OVER-THE-TOP EMERGENCY CALL

Methods and apparatuses for providing support for location and emergency calls for an over-the-top (OTT) service provider (SP) are disclosed. An access network node receives a first message from a UE, determines a location reference for the UE, and sends a second message including the location reference to the UE. The access network node may determine the location reference itself on behalf of a location server or may request the location server to assign and return the location reference. The access network node may serve as a proxy and avoid interaction between the UE and the location server. The location server may later receive a location request for the UE from a network entity wherein the location request includes the location reference. The location server may locate the UE using the location reference and return the UE location to the network entity.
