LOCATION OF TRACKING REFERENCE SIGNAL AVAILABILITY INFORMATION
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a paging early indication (PEI) physical downlink control channel communication with tracking reference signal (TRS) availability information at a location that is based at least in part on a length of a bitmap to be used for indicating a PEI. The UE may receive a TRS if the TRS availability information indicates that the TRS is to be transmitted. Numerous other aspects are described.

Paging procedures for user equipments with coverage extension
The present disclosure relates to a method for paging coverage extension UEs in a cell controlled by a radio base station. At least one CE-specific paging possibility is defined for paging CE-UEs. The CE-UEs in the cell regularly monitor the at least one CE-specific paging possibility. When the radio base station determines to page all the user equipments in the cell, it pages the CE user equipments in the cell at the CE-specific paging possibility, using a coverage extension technique. The disclosure also relates to a method for paging a CE-UE, which performs radio measurements by a CE-capable user equipment to determine whether coverage extension is necessary. The radio base station is informed about whether the CE-capable user equipment needs coverage extension and then pages the CE-UEs applying or not applying a CE technique depending on whether coverage extension is necessary.

Configuration of non-UE-specific search space for M-PDCCH
This disclosure relates to implementations to support non-UE-specific (i.e. common) and UE-specific search spaces (SS) for M-PDCCH. One implementation relates to a UE comprising RF circuitry to receive, from an eNB, configuration information of one or a plurality of common Search Spaces (CSSs) for M-PDCCH; and baseband circuitry to monitor the one or more configured CSS for M-PDCCH transmissions; wherein the RF circuitry and/or baseband circuitry is adapted to support a reduced bandwidth (BW). Another implementation relates to an eNB comprising RF circuitry to transmit configuration information of a plurality of CSSs for M-PDCCH to one or more UEs supporting a reduced BW, wherein the plurality of CSSs for M-PDCCH are differentiated by “based on functionality”-differentiation that includes the type of use case and/or an EC level of the UE.

Security for paging messages
Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE), comprises one or more baseband processors to derive a dynamic scrambling key, and a memory to store the dynamic scrambling key and a temporary UE identifier (temporary UE ID) assigned to the UE. The one or more baseband processors monitor a paging request for a scrambled UE identifier (UE ID) to determine if the paging request is intended for the UE by unscrambling the scrambled UE ID with the dynamic scrambling key to produce the temporary UE ID. The paging request is intended for the UE if the temporary UE ID produced by unscrambling the scrambled UE ID matches the temporary UE ID stored in the memory. A new dynamic scrambling key may be derived each time the UE returns to a radio resource control idle (RRC_IDLE) state.

Efficiently handling communications in wireless telecommunications systems
A method of operating a terminal device to receive user plane data from a network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunications network when the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode, the method comprising: receiving paging message signalling from the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the paging message signalling comprises an indication the network infrastructure equipment has user plane data for transmission to the terminal device while the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode; determining from the paging message signalling a set of radio resources on which the user plane data is to be transmitted by the network infrastructure equipment to the terminal device; and receiving the user plane data from the network infrastructure equipment using the determined set of radio resources while the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode.
Beam selection for paging
Wireless communications for paging are described. A wireless device may use a subset of beams, among a plurality of beams, to communicate with a base station during a connected state. After a connection release, at least one beam of the subset of beams may be used for paging associated with the wireless device.
