TECHNIQUES FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING PAGING MESSAGES OVER AN UNLICENSED RADIO FREQUENCY SPECTRUM BAND
Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes receiving a transmission including a paging group indicator and an indication of a time window. The transmission may be received at a user equipment (UE) over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The first method may also include monitoring, based on the paging group indicator, the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window to receive an asynchronous paging message from a base station. A second method includes transmitting the transmission over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band; performing a number of clear channel assessments (CCAs) on the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window; and transmitting the paging message over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band at a transmission time during the time window. The transmission time may be based on a result of at least one of the CCAs.
NOTIFICATIONS WITH CUSTOM USER INTERFACE
Notifications for an accessory device are received at a mobile companion device. The notifications are directed to a notification processing application of the companion device that processes notifications intended for accessory device applications. The notification processing application determines an identifier of the accessory application for which the notification is intended, and provides the identifier to a notification display application at the accessory device, which determines user interface and display properties for the notification. The accessory device requests external (dynamic) user interface and display properties from the companion device, as needed, and upon receipt generates a notification display at the accessory device.

METHOD, APPARATUS, SYSTEM, STORAGE MEDIUM FOR PAGING OPTIMIZATION
The various embodiments of the present disclosure describes a method, apparatus, system, and a storage medium for paging optimization, the method comprising: obtaining past visiting information of a UE to be paged and optimize paging message conveying range based on the past visiting information the UE and a predefined optimization strategy. In embodiments of the present disclosure, a better optimized paging strategy can be provided based on the past visiting information of the UE to be paged in order to prevent signaling storm caused by paging, and avoid excessive radio-frequency consumption to some extent, such that balance user paging experience and consumption of radio-frequency resources.

Idle Mode Operation in the Heterogeneous Network with Conventional Macro Cell and MMW Small Cell
Apparatus and methods are provided to handle idle mode operation in the heterogeneous network with conventional macro cell and millimeter wave (mmW) small cells. In one novel aspect, the UE camps on both the macro cell and the mmW small cell. The UE receives system information that includes information of mmW small cells and paging messages from the macro cell and establishes RRC connection with one of the mmW small cell. In one embodiment, the UE performs mmW small cell discovery upon obtaining mmW small cell information. In another embodiment, the UE performs the mmW small cell discovery if the mobility status indicates low mobility and/or the traffic type is suitable for the mmW small cell. In another novel aspect, the UE receives the paging request from the macro cell and sends the paging response to the mmW small cell base station who forwards the paging response to the MME.

PAGING MECHANISM FOR WIRELESS NETWORKS
A paging method and system in a wireless network for a target device that is enabled to transition between an active state and a standby state, including: tracking a location of a target device within the network while the target device is in the standby state based on a periodic identifying signal from the target device; determining a serving transmission point for the target device based on the tracking; and instructing the serving transmission point to transmit a paging message to the target device.
