DETERMINATION AND PRESENTATION OF CUSTOMIZED NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications for instructing user behavior can be determined and presented when appropriate. Historical fitness data and current fitness data are accessed. This data is used to determine whether a user fitness goal is likely to be achieved. If not, a notification may be determined and presented at a user device.

Adaptive paging techniques for extended coverage-capable devices

Adaptive paging techniques for EC-capable devices are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise at least one memory and logic for an evolved node B (eNB), at least a portion of the logic comprised in hardware coupled to the at least one memory, the logic to receive an S1 paging message comprising a user equipment (UE) identifier (ID) associated with a UE and an extended coverage (EC) capability indicator indicating that the UE is EC-capable and page the UE using an EC paging sequence based on receipt of the S1 paging message, the EC paging sequence to comprise a series of transmissions of a radio resource control (RRC) paging message, the logic to truncate the EC paging sequence based on a determination that the UE has responded to RRC paging. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Paging method, device, and system

A paging method, a paging device, and system are described. A mobility management network element (MME) obtains location information of user equipment (UE) in a non-3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network, where the UE already accesses the non-3GPP network. The MME receives a downlink data notification message, where the downlink data notification message carries an identifier of the UE. The MME pages the UE according to the location information of the UE in the non-3GPP network. In some implementations, a paging range may be determined according to the location information of the UE in the non-3GPP network, and a paging message does not need to be sent to all base stations in a registration area of the UE.

Communication method, terminal device, and access network device

Embodiments of this application provide a communication method including: determining, by a terminal device in a first state, that a paging area of the terminal device is changed; sending, by the terminal device, a first message to a first access network device, where the first message is used to notify the first access network device that the paging area of the terminal device is changed; receiving, by the terminal device, a second message sent by the first access network device based on the first message; determining, by the terminal device based on the second message, a to-be-entered state of the terminal device; and when the terminal device determines that the terminal device needs to be in a second state, entering, by the terminal device, the second state based on a stored connection context information.

Method and apparatus for controlling or paging a user equipment

A communication method and system for controlling and paging a user equipment (UE) are provided. The method includes receiving mobility level information of a UE, and performing at least one of handover control, measurement control, or paging for the UE according to mobility level information of the UE.

Method, first network node, computer program and carrier for handling paging of wireless devices

A method and a first network node of a wireless network, for handling paging of a wireless device. A Radio Access Network Area, RANA, which is supported by the first network node, is registered in a database by network nodes supporting the RANA, including the first network node. The network nodes that support the RANA are then identified in the database. When it is detected that a wireless device needs to be paged in the RANA, e.g. for receiving data, a paging message is distributed to the identified set of network nodes as an instruction to perform radio transmission of the paging message. Further, which is available to the network nodes throughout the wireless network. Thereby, any network node in the wireless network, such as the first network node, is able to perform distribution of a paging message to all network nodes that support a particular RANA, as registered in the database.
