METHODS, WIRELESS DEVICE AND NETWORK NODE FOR COMMUNICATION IN A WIRELESS NETWORK
20220052817 · 2022-02-17 ·

Methods, wireless device (200) and network node (202), for communication between the wireless device and the network node in a wireless network. The wireless device transmits (2:1, 2:3) a predetermined first pilot P1 associated with the wireless device, to indicate that the wireless device is in idle state. The wireless device further transmits (2:5) transmit a predetermined second pilot P2 associated with the wireless device, to indicate that the wireless device is in active state. Thereby, the network node is able to perform positioning (2:2) of the wireless device based on the first pilot P1, and to allow access (2:7) to the network when receiving the second pilot P2.

A method and device for decreasing the frequency of tracking area update (TAU) procedures triggered by cell reselections in LTE idle mode without sacrificing paging reception success rate consisting of identifying a frequency of a camped cell in LTE idle mode of a first SIM; assigning the current frequency a highest priority irrespective of the system information blocks (SIBs) broadcast by the network; and remaining on the current frequency until: a cell selection reception level value of the camped cell is less than a first predetermined threshold value or a cell selection quality value of the camped cell is less than a second predetermined threshold value.

SMART ALERTS IN A TRACKING DEVICE ENVIRONMENT
20220053296 · 2022-02-17 ·

A tracking system can provide smart alerts based on a user's location. The tracking system can receive a location of a user's mobile device and establish a geographic boundary around the location if the mobile device remains at the location for a threshold amount of time. The tracking system can receive a new location of the mobile device outside of the geographic boundary and configure the mobile device to scan for a tracking device associated with the user for an interval of time. If the tracking system detects the tracking device within the interval, the tracking system stores information indicating that the user possesses the tracking device. Otherwise, the tracking system sends an indication to the mobile device indicating that the user has left behind the tracking device.

Method and system for transmitting paging messages to machine type communication (MTC) devices in wireless communication

A method to transmit paging messages to Machine Type Communication (MTC) devices in wireless communication is provided. The method includes establishing, by a first cluster head, a dedicated radio connection with at least one base station. The method also includes receiving a request from a plurality of MTC devices to transmit a signaling message. The signaling message includes a tracking area update (TAU) and paging information associated with the plurality of MTC devices. The method further includes storing information of the plurality of MTC devices associated with the first cluster head and base station corresponding to each of the MTC devices. The method includes fetching, by a Mobility Management Entity (MME), information of the base station associated with a serving MTC device based on receiving a data request from the at least one MTC device and transmitting the paging information to the base station associated with the serving MTC device.

A method for reducing a likelihood of paging all base stations in the tracking area is disclosed, comprising: tracking a per-cell paging success rate for cells in the radio access network and a last known cell for mobile devices attached in the radio access network; performing, based on a paging request message, a paging sequence to identify a paging set of base stations to page the specific mobile device, the paging sequence further comprising: identifying a paging set that is a last known cell for the specific mobile device based on the tracked last known cell, sending paging messages to the radio access network to all cells in the paging set, identifying a next paging set based on the tracked per-cell paging success rate, and sending paging messages to the radio access network to all cells in the next paging set.

Discovering an event using a personal preference list and presenting matching events to a user on a display

A user profile is used to assist a user in identifying events of interest and to provide context to users regarding events that matches user preferences. The user profile may be based on behaviors exhibited on a mobile device, on input by the user or on data on the mobile device. The user profile is analyzed to provide notification of events of interest to the user based upon the analysis of the user profile. The user profile may include anything that contributes to a state on the device.
