20230262657 · 2023-08-17 ·

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. According to various embodiments of the present invention, provided are a method and a device for performing a paging operation in a plurality of SIMs in a next generation mobile communication system.

WIRELESS DEVICE MOBILITY BETWEEN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

A wireless device suspends a connection with a first access network and enters an inactive state. While the connection with the first access network is suspended and the wireless device is in the inactive state, the wireless device camps in a specific area of a second wireless communication network that is included in a notification area within which the wireless device is allowed to move without notifying either the second wireless communication network or a first wireless communication network that includes the first access network. Upon camping in the specific area, the wireless device starts a timer. Responsive to expiry of the timer, the wireless device switches from the inactive state to an idle state and/or transmits to the second access network signaling indicating that the wireless device is in the specific area or that the wireless device requests a connection to the second access network.

System Enablers for Multi-SIM Devices

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HANDLING REGISTRATION AND SESSION MANAGEMENT IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Embodiments herein achieve a method for handling registration and session management in a wireless communication system. The method includes registering, by a User Equipment (UE), with a first core network entity over a 3GPP access network and a non-3GPP access network. Further, the method includes triggering, by the UE, a registration procedure to a second core network over the 3GPP access network when a periodic timer of the UE expires in an OOS state. Further, the method includes receiving, by the UE, a non-access stratum (NAS) message, over the 3GPP access network, with an indication to register for the non-3GPP access network with the second core network entity. Further, the method includes reinitiating the registration procedure to register again for the non-3GPP access with the second core network entity through the non-3GPP access network.

Wireless communication method and network device

The embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for wireless communication and a network device, which may determine an access domain for called terminal device when the called terminal device is dual registered terminal device, thereby ensuring establishment of a call. In the method, a first terminal device has registered with both a first network and a second network. The method includes that: a network device acquires first information for the first terminal device, here, the first information is indicative of information used for the first terminal device to establish at least one of a Packet Data Unit (PDU) session or a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection in at least one of the first network or the second network; and responsive to that the first terminal device is called by a second terminal device, the network device determines, according to an identifier of the first terminal device and the first information, an access domain used by the first terminal device for establishment of a call connection between the first terminal device and the second terminal device.
