PROGRAM FOR ADJUSTING CHANNEL INTERFERENCE BETWEEN ACCESS POINTS IN A WIRELESS NETWORK
The performance and ease of management of wireless communications environments is improved by a mechanism that enables access points (APs) to perform automatic channel selection. A wireless network can therefore include multiple APs, each of which will automatically choose a channel such that channel usage is optimized. Furthermore, APs can perform automatic power adjustment so that multiple APs can operate on the same channel while minimizing interference with each other. Wireless stations are load balanced across APs so that user bandwidth is optimized. A movement detection scheme provides seamless roaming of stations between APs.
PHY Error Indication Messaging
This disclosure introduces an advancement to the error indication message to provide detailed information about errors in configurations that are arriving from the Layer 2 to the Layer 1. A method is disclosed, comprising: performing physical layer control (PHY) of a wireless signal at a Layer 1 (L1) software module; performing medium access control (MAC) of the wireless signal at a Layer 2 (L2) software module; providing an application programming interface between the L1 software module and the L2 software module for receiving L1 configuration messages and providing error codes to the L2 software module; receiving a L1 configuration message at a Layer 1 software module; and providing an enhanced error code progressively from a L1 software module to the Layer 2 (L2) software module.
USING WLAN CONNECTIVITY OF A WIRELESS DEVICE
In some examples, a first wireless device communicates with a group device that wirelessly interconnects a plurality of wireless devices in a group, to obtain, from the group device, information identifying a second wireless device from which the first wireless device is able to use a wireless connectivity of the second wireless device to a wide area network (WAN), the second wireless device being part of the plurality of wireless devices. The first wireless device communicates data over the WAN using the wireless connectivity of the second wireless device.
System and method for limiting access to an IP-based wireless telecommunications network based on access point IP address and/or MAC address
A system and method manages call connections between mobile subscribers and an EP-based wireless telecommunications network through a wireless access point. Communications between the mobile subscribers and the IP-based wireless telecommunications network are initiated by a registration request. During the registration request various identifiers (IMSI, MAC address, IP Address, etc.) are communicated to the system. The system is arranged to log the identifiers and associate those identifiers with the entry point (e.g., the wireless access point) into the IP based wireless network. Call connections from the mobile subscribers are monitored for various throughput and call quality based metrics. Call handoffs between the IP-based wireless communications network and the cellular telephony network are managed by the system based on the monitored call quality and throughput metrics on a per-access point basis using the registered identifiers.
Navigation system with location mechanism and method of operation thereof
A method of operation of a navigation system includes: identifying a location message including an internet address and a message portion; and generating with a control unit a geographic profile associated with the internet address based on the message portion for locating a device based on the internet address.
Discovering Path Maximum Transmission Unit
A method for discovering a PMTU, applicable to a destination node of a path, includes: receiving fragment packets from a source node of the path; determining a detecting range based on a maximum length and a minimum fragment unit of the fragment packets; selecting a detecting value within the detecting range in accordance with a predetermined strategy, requesting the source node to respond with a response packet of a length equal to the detecting value, and determining a PMTU of the path based on whether the response packet from the source node is fragmented.
Bypassing routing stacks using mobile internet protocol
Methods, systems and computer program products for load balancing using Mobile Internet Protocol (IP) Version 6 are provided. A request for a connection is received from a client at a routing stack. A Mobile IP Version 6 Binding Update message is transmitted from the routing stack to the client responsive to the received request. The Binding Update message identifies a selected target stack so as to allow the client to communicate directly with the target stack bypassing the routing stack.

Resource assignment for general packet radio service tunneling protocol (GTP) entities in 5G
A wireless cellular network system comprising MME configured to send a first create session request to SGW-C, the SGW-C configured to select SGW-U and transmit a first resource request to the selected SGW-U, and the SGW-U configured to, upon a receipt of the first resource request, allocate an IP address and TEIDs of the SGW-U, and transmit a resource message including the IP address and the TEIDs of the SGW-U to SGW-C. A method of SGW-C in a wireless communication system, the method comprising receiving, from MME, a first create session request, selecting SGW-U among a plurality of SGW-Us, wherein the selection is based on a location of a terminal, transmitting a first resource request to the selected SGW-U, receiving, from the selected SGW-U, a resource message including an IP address and TEID of the SGW-U, the IP address and TEIDs being allocated by the selected SGW-U.
