Extracorporeal blood treatment flow rate adjustment
Extracorporeal blood treatment systems and methods to display graphical user interfaces displaying a plurality of fluids areas, each including a flow rate, and displaying adjustment notifications proximate one or more fluid areas. For example, when a user adjusts a flow rate to a limit, one or more notifications may be displayed proximate other flow rates that may be adjusted to modify the limit.
MODULAR ASSEMBLY FOR A PORTABLE HEMODIALYSIS SYSTEM
A modular assembly for a portable hemodialysis system may include a dialysis unit, e.g., that contains suitable components for performing hemodialysis, such as a dialyzer, one or more pumps to circulate blood through the dialyzer, a source of dialysate, and one or more pumps to circulate the dialysate through the dialyzer, and a power unit having a housing that contains suitable components for providing operating power to the pumps of the dialysis unit. The power unit may be selectively connected to the dialysis unit and provide power (e.g., pneumatic power in the form of pressure and/or to vacuum) to the dialysis unit for the pumps when connected to the dialysis unit, but may be incapable of providing power to the dialysis unit when disconnected from the dialysis unit. The dialysis unit and the power unit are sized and weighted to each be carried by hand by a human.
Flow balancing devices, methods, and systems
The disclosed subject matter relates to extracorporeal blood processing or other processing of fluids. Volumetric fluid balance, a required element of many such processes, may be achieved with multiple pumps or other proportioning or balancing devices which are to some extent independent of each other. This need may arise in treatments that involve multiple fluids. Safe and secure mechanisms to ensure fluid balance in such systems are described.

EXTRACORPOREAL BLOOD TREATMENT DEVICE WITH FUNCTION-MONITORING SYSTEM
An extracorporeal blood treatment device with a function-monitoring system, wherein the extracorporeal blood treatment device for connection to the vascular system of a patient has an input branch and an output branch. The extracorporeal blood treatment device is equipped, in a first circuit, with at least one first pump arranged between the input branch and output branch for moving the patient's blood, and, in a second circuit filled with liquid and thermally connected to the first circuit of the extracorporeal blood treatment device via a heat exchanger, it has temperature-influencing means. The function-monitoring system has, in the second circuit, two temperature sensors which are arranged upstream (TS2.sub.auf) and downstream (TS2.sub.ab), respectively, with respect to the heat exchanger, in addition, temperature sensor TS1.sub.ab is arranged in the output branch of the first circuit, downstream from the heat exchanger. The function-monitoring system moreover comprises a computer system which is operatively connected to the aforementioned temperature sensors and the temperature-influencing means and which, after the temperature has been influenced, establishes, from the detected temperature values, corresponding thermodilution curves (TDK1.sub.ab, TDK2.sub.ab, TDK2.sub.auf) and, in order to determine an indicator of the function of the extracorporeal blood treatment device, relates the TDK2.sub.ab and the TDK.sub.1ab to each other.
Analyte Sensor Component
A sensor component for use in a system for measuring concentration of analytes in fluid in a fluid line comprises one or more sensing elements having an optical property that varies with the concentration of the analytes, and engages with the fluid line such that the sensing elements are exposed to the fluid. The sensor component comprises a connector connecting to one or more optical waveguides, and transmits light between the waveguides and the sensing elements. The sensor component comprises one or more of a sampling port configured to provide fluidic access to the fluid line, a data storage medium storing data representing information about the sensor component, and a reflective element. Where it comprises a reflective element, the sensor component transmits light between the waveguides and the reflective element on a separate optical path from an optical path between the waveguides and the sensing elements.
FLUID SENSOR MODULE
A fluid sensor device can include a housing having an inlet and an outlet. The housing can have a fluid reservoir, a sensing assembly, a plunger, a valve, and a plurality of channels. The fluid sensor module can be used to sense constituents in a sample fluid (e.g. patient's blood or dialysate) during a treatment process, such as kidney dialysis procedures.
