Disclosed herein is a wireless mesh network comprised of ultra-high-capacity nodes that are capable of establishing ultra-high-capacity links (e.g., point-to-point or point-to-multipoint bi-directional communication links) using a millimeter wave spectrum, including but not limited to 28 Ghz, 39 Ghz, 37/42 Ghz, 60 Ghz (including V band), or E-band frequencies, as examples. The higher capacity and/or extended range of these ultra-high-capacity nodes/links may be achieved via various advanced signal processing techniques. Further, these ultra-high-capacity nodes/links may be used in conjunction with other types of point-to-point and/or point-to-multipoint links to build a multi-layer wireless mesh network.

Transmission frequency management for edge devices of an interconnected distributed network

In an approach to managing transmission frequency for a plurality of edge devices of an interconnected distributed network, one or more computer processors determine a maximum writing frequency, MWF, for the interconnected distributed network; iteratively process values of data flow writing frequency, DFWF, for a plurality of edge devices of an interconnected distributed network in accordance with an optimization algorithm based on the MWF to identify a convergence in the values of DFWF, wherein each iteration of processing values comprises, at each edge device in the plurality of edge devices, determine a value of DFWF based on an associated utility function of the respective edge device, wherein the utility function is a measure of utility of the device as a function of DFWF; responsive to identifying convergence, determine the converged values of DFWF to be optimal values of DFWF for the plurality of edge devices.

Provided are an architecture, method and apparatus for realizing communication between network functions. The network function establishes interworking with other communication domains via the interface function. An interworking interface between a network function and a selected interface function is identical to an interworking interface between the network function and a destination network function. With the architecture, the network function and the interface function are decoupled. The interworking between network functions within the communication domain and the interworking between the network function within the communication domain and the network function outside the communication domain are achieved by using only one type of interworking interface.
