A ball cap with a concealed opening that allows for a greater variety of hairstyles to be worn while simultaneously retaining the general shape, appearance, and functionality of a typical ball cap. The concealed opening is hidden in a default configuration of the hat, but it can be selectively opened to allow for hair such as a ponytail to pass through. The ball cap can include a protective coating on the sweatband to prevent makeup, sweat, and dirt from soiling the sweatband.

A protective clothing device having an article of clothing having an inner layer and/or an outer layer is disclosed. The protective clothing device may have thin force absorbing members coupled to the inner layer or outer layer of the article of clothing. The force absorbing members can have overlapping or interlaced portions for enhanced protection even when the protective clothing device expands. In one embodiment, the protective clothing device may be a protective hat. In another embodiment, the protective clothing device may be a headband.

A protective clothing device having an article of clothing having an inner layer and/or an outer layer is disclosed. A hat with an adjustable visor includes a shell disposed on a user's head, an upper visor coupled to the shell and having a plurality of elongated slots, each elongated slot having a pair of rails extending along opposing side walls of the elongated slot, and a lower visor slidably mounted to the upper visor and having a plurality of tab assemblies, each tab assembly slidably mounted to the pair of rails of one of the plurality of elongated slots in the upper visor. The lower visor slidably adjusts relative to the shell to enable the plurality of tab assemblies of the lower visor to traverse the pairs of rails in the plurality of elongated slots of the upper visor, thereby extending the lower visor beyond the upper visor in an extended position or retracting the lower visor to align with the upper visor in a retracted position.

A hat with an adjustable visor includes a shell disposed on a user's head, an upper visor coupled to the shell and having a plurality of elongated slots, each elongated slot having a pair of rails extending along opposing side walls of the elongated slot, and a lower visor slidably mounted to the upper visor and having a plurality of tab assemblies, each tab assembly slidably mounted to the pair of rails of one of the plurality of elongated slots in the upper visor. The lower visor slidably adjusts relative to the shell to enable the plurality of tab assemblies of the lower visor to traverse the pairs of rails in the plurality of elongated slots of the upper visor, thereby extending the lower visor beyond the upper visor in an extended position or retracting the lower visor to align with the upper visor in a retracted position.

A facial concealment assembly for concealing a user's face when the user is sleeping includes a fitment that is extendable around a user's head. A brim is coupled to the fitment and a screen is removably coupled to the brim. Thus, the screen hangs downwardly from the brim when the fitment is worn on the user's head. The screen has a length of at least 14.0 inches such that the screen covers the user's face and chest when the fitment is worn around the user's head. The screen is comprised of a one-way see through material to conceal the user's face and chest from observers. In this way the user can sleep discretely on public or private transportation.
