Fast Plant Eradication Using Aimed Unnatural Low Energy Dual Component Indigo Region and Medium Wavelength Infrared Signaling Illumination
Plant eradication and stressing of plants using illumination signaling where a short-time dual component, low energy, unnatural set of irradiances is applied, with no mutagenic or high radiative energy transfers in any wavelength for eradication by substantial high temperature thermally-induced leaf and plant component failure or incineration. An Indigo Region Illumination Distribution of wavelength 300 nm to 550 nm is directed to plant foliage and/or a plant root crown, while infrared radiation that is substantially Medium Wavelength Infrared radiation of 2-20 microns wavelength, 2.4-8.0 microns preferred, is directed to a plant root crown and/or soil immediately adjacent the root crown. The Indigo Region Illumination Distribution can pass through the MWIR emitter to form a compact illuminator that uses specific unnatural irradiances that provide unexpected plant control. The MWIR emitter can comprise borosilicate glass at 400° F. to 1000° F.
Aerosol delivery device with radiant heating
The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices, methods of forming such devices, and elements of such devices. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides devices configured for vaporization of an aerosol precursor composition through radiant heating. The radiant heat source may be a laser diode or further element suitable for providing electromagnetic radiation, and heating may be carried out within a radiation-trapping chamber. In some embodiments, an interior of such chamber may be configured as a black body or as a white body.
MULTI-LAYERED RADIATION LIGHT SOURCE
Provided is a radiation light source that enables adjustment of infrared radiation to a significantly narrow band. A plasmonic reflector layer consisting of a plasmonic material, a resonator layer consisting of an insulator, and a partially reflecting layer are alternately laminated in this order to form a multi-layered radiation light source, wherein the partially reflecting layer are selected from any one of a free interface, an ultrathin-film metallic layer, and a distributed reflector layer having a structure in which layers having different refractive indexes are alternately laminated. When a material with high-temperature resistance such as SiC is used in the outermost layer of the distributed reflector layer, the multi-layered radiation light source can operate at high temperatures of 550° C. and higher.
Wave-to-heat conversion structure and application thereof
The present disclosure provides a wave-to-heat conversion structure. The wave-to-heat conversion structure is a loose tissue formed by a plurality of intersect and hooking fibrous structures. The loose tissue retains a dendritic structure of the fibrous structure, and a plurality of micro-gaps are formed between the fibrous structures. The wave-to-heat conversion structure further includes a heat conductive layer, and the heat conduction coefficient of the heat conductive layer is ranged from about 10 W/m.Math.K to 3000 W/m.Math.K. The present disclosure provides a wave-to-heat conversion spectrum plate using the wave-to-heat conversion structure.
Precision cooking system
The present invention comprises a precision cooking oven that utilizes laser sheets to cook food, thus creating homogeneously heated and uniformly seared food bodies and surfaces. Laser sheets move back and forth evenly injecting heat into items being cooked. All food cold or hot areas can be eliminated since intersecting laser lines can be completely projected on and accommodate an item's exterior surfaces. Items with non-uniform cross-sections and properties can be cooked uniformly by controlling the exact amount of energy projected into differing sections of the food. The oven is also capable of cooking autonomously. Since laser sheets can be precisely controlled, cooking results can be very predictable once the boundary conditions for a thermal analysis are determined. The oven can detect the properties of the items to be cooked and thereafter compute the needed time and power to achieve the desired results stipulated by an oven operator.
Structural design and process to improve the temperature modulation and power consumption of an IR emitter
An infrared emitter is formed having a reduced thermal mass and increased thermal conductivity to effectively deliver and dissipate heat from a heating element that emits electromagnetic radiation. The improved thermal dynamic process may enhance one or both of power consumption and/or longevity.
Infrared device
The invention relates to an infrared device comprising a resistive element suspended in a cavity formed in a main element, and capable of transmitting infrared radiation when it is fed with an electric current. In particular, the main element is at least partly covered on the outer surface thereof and/or the inner surface thereof with a reflective coating. The use of the reflective coating makes it possible to at least partly contain infrared radiation transmitted by the resistive element in the cavity.
INFRARED RADIATION DEVICE
An infrared radiation device includes a body including a heat generating part and first and second metamaterial structures that are capable of radiating infrared rays having a peak wavelength of a non-Planck distribution upon receipt of thermal energy from the heat generating part. The first metamaterial structure is disposed on a first surface side of the heat generating part, and the second metamaterial structure is disposed on a second surface side opposite to the first surface side of the heat generating part.
HEATER, MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS ARTICLE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS ARTICLE
According to the present invention, provided is a heater including a heat generating member being conductive and configured to radiate heat rays by being fed with electric power, a tubular member constituted by a metal and accommodating the heat generating member, and an intermediate member arranged between the heat generating member and the tubular member and constituted by an electrically insulating material, wherein the intermediate member is arranged and/or configured to allow, among the heat rays radiated from the heat generating member, at least light having a wavelength of from 1 m to 2 m to pass through the intermediate member to reach the tubular member.
HOT FOOD MERCHANDISING UNIT WITH ROLLER GRILL
The present invention provides single units that contain a large lower chamber, and one or more display shelves above this chamber on the inside of the unit. A roller grill or other large appliance may be provided in the lower chamber, or the chamber may be left open to display large food products or other items. The shelves may be heated for keeping foods displayed on the shelves warm; however, the shelves need not be heated for food products that do not need to be kept warm. Heating elements, lights and sensors may be adjusted using electronic controls to provide optimum temperatures inside the various chambers of the display units. Display units of the present invention allow store owners to utilize the space above a roller grill or other appliance to merchandise additional food products as opposed to requiring a separate food merchandiser to occupy additional valuable counter space. The performance of the roller grills of the present invention is improved over stand-alone roller grills, thereby reducing the potential for lost sales due to food not being sufficiently heated.
