BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Dialysis systems comprising actuators that cooperate to perform dialysis functions and sensors that cooperate to monitor dialysis functions are disclosed. According to one aspect, such a hemodialysis system comprises a user interface model layer, a therapy layer, below the user interface model layer, and a machine layer below the therapy layer. The user interface model layer is configured to manage the state of a graphical user interface and receive inputs from a graphical user interface. The therapy layer is configured to run state machines that generate therapy commands based at least in part on the inputs from the graphical user interface. The machine layer is configured to provide commands for the actuators based on the therapy commands.
System for extracorporeal blood treatment, treatment apparatus, kit and method for operating a system for extracorporeal blood treatment
The present invention relates to a system (100) for extracorporeal blood treatment comprising a first inlet (1) for introducing a bloodstream to be treated into the system (100), three blood treatment apparatus (A, D, G), as well as an outlet (2) for discharging a treated bloodstream from the system (100), wherein the system comprises an adsorber apparatus (A) and/or a plasma separator apparatus, a dialysis apparatus (D) and a gas exchange apparatus (G), and wherein the three blood treatment apparatus (A, D, G) are sequentially connected in series in a functional state of system (100) application between the inlet (1) and the outlet (2) of the system relative to a direction of blood flow of a bloodstream to be treated and can be consecutively perfused extracorporeally by a bloodstream to be treated. The present invention further relates to a treatment apparatus comprising such a system, a kit comprising the components of such a system, a method for operating such a system (100) as well as a method for extracorporeal blood treatment with such a system (100).
PORTABLE CONTINUOUS RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY SYSTEM AND METHODS
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a portable system for continuous renal replacement therapy. The present disclosure includes a system including a dialyzer, a blood circuit, a dialysate circuit, a cannister, a pump, and a housing. The housing can encase the system, including the dialyzer, circuits, cannister and pump. The system can be transformed between an active transport mode and a stationary mode. In the active transport mode, the components can be within the housing, allowing for patient mobility while attached to the system.
Pressure measuring device and extracorporeal circulator
A pressure measuring device 30 installs on a tube 11 for transferring a medium (e.g., blood in a extracorporeal blood circulator) so as to measure a pressure of the medium inside the tube 11. The pressure measuring device 30 includes a main body portion 31 mountable to the tube 11, an image acquisition unit 32 disposed in the main body portion 31 so as to acquire image information on a pressure receiver that is deformed in response to the received pressure of the medium inside the tube 11, and a control unit 100 that converts the image information acquired by the image acquisition unit into pressure information about the pressure.
Filter and frame apparatus and method of use
Provided is a filter apparatus, comprising two or more filter cartridges having a first end with an inlet and screen and a second end with an outlet and screen, and walls to contain a filter media held in a housing for holding the two or more filter cartridges in about the same orientation, and an attachment clamp connected to the housing. Also provided is a housing for holding two or more filter cartridges in about the same orientation and a method of using the filter apparatus and housing.
FLUID PUMPING SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS
Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to certain types of reciprocating positive-displacement pumps (which may be referred to hereinafter as “pods,” “pump pods,” or “pod pumps”) used to pump fluids, such as a biological fluid (e.g., blood or peritoneal fluid), a therapeutic fluid (e.g., a medication solution), or a surfactant fluid. The pumps may be configured specifically to impart low shear forces and low turbulence on the fluid as the fluid is pumped from an inlet to an outlet. Such pumps may be particularly useful in pumping fluids that may be damaged by such shear forces (e.g., blood, and particularly heated blood, which is prone to hemolysis) or turbulence (e.g., surfectants or other fluids that may foam or otherwise be damaged or become unstable in the presence of turbulence).
Blood purification apparatus
A blood purification apparatus in which the error in the amount of discharge from a blood pump that is caused by the change in the suction pressure of the blood pump is reduced. A blood purification apparatus includes a blood circuit through which blood of a patient is extracorporeally circulated; a dialyzer connected to proximal ends of an arterial blood circuit and a venous blood circuit and that purifies the blood extracorporeally circulating through the blood circuit; a squeezable tube connected to the arterial blood circuit; a blood pump allowing liquid in the squeezable tube to flow by squeezing the squeezable tube in a lengthwise direction while compressing the squeezable tube in a radial direction; and a pressure-detecting device attached to a predetermined position of the arterial blood circuit that is nearer to a distal end than a position where the blood pump is provided, the pressure-detecting device being capable of detecting a suction pressure of the blood pump.
Portable dialysis machine
The specification discloses a portable dialysis machine having a detachable controller unit and base unit. The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The base unit has a planar surface for receiving a container of fluid, a scale integrated with the planar surface, a heater in thermal communication with the planar surface, and a sodium sensor in electromagnetic communication with the planar surface. Embodiments of the disclosed portable dialysis system have improved structural and functional features, including improved modularity, ease of use, and safety features.
