BEAM ENERGY DISPERSION ADJUSTING MECHANISM FOR SUPERCONDUCTING PROTON CYCLOTRON
Disclosed is a beam energy dispersion adjusting mechanism for superconducting proton cyclotron. The adjusting mechanism includes a vacuum cavity, bases are symmetrically mounted on outer walls of four faces of the vacuum cavity in horizontal and vertical directions, an electric cylinder and a transmission mechanism are mounted on each of the four bases, a jaws block and a position fixing plate are correspondingly provided on an inner wall of the vacuum cavity at each face. The transmission mechanism includes an oil-free sleeve, a moving connecting rod onto which the position fixing plate is fixed, a corrugated pipe, and an electric cylinder connecting block whose both ends are screwed with the moving connecting rod and the electric cylinder, the jaws block is fixedly connected with the position fixing plate. The disclosure utilizes the electric cylinder to drive the jaws block to complete specified linear displacement, and satisfies back-end beam quality requirements.
CONFIGURABLE COLLIMATOR CONTROLLED USING LINEAR MOTORS
An example device for trimming a particle beam includes: structures made of material that blocks passage of the particle beam, with the structures being configurable to define an edge that is movable into a path of the particle beam; and linear motors that are controllable to configure the structures to define the edge.

Controlling particle therapy
An example particle therapy system includes the following: a gantry that is rotatable relative to a patient position; a particle accelerator mounted to the gantry, where the particle accelerator is for outputting a particle beam essentially directly to the patient position; and a control system to receive a prescription and to generate machine instructions for configuring one or more operational characteristics of the particle therapy system. At least one of the operational characteristics relates to a rotational angle of the gantry relative to the patient position.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING A SOLID TARGET WITHIN A PRODUCTION CHAMBER OF A TARGET ASSEMBLY
System includes a target assembly having a production chamber. The target assembly includes an electrode and a conductive base exposed to the production chamber. The target assembly has fluidic ports that provide access to the production chamber. The system also includes a fluidic-control system having a storage vessel and fluidic lines that connect to the fluidic ports. The storage vessel and the production chamber are in flow communication through at least one of the fluidic lines. The system also includes a power source that is configured to be electrically connected to the electrode and the conductive base. The production chamber, the electrode, and the conductive base form an electrolytic cell when an electrolytic solution is disposed in the production chamber. The power source is configured to apply voltage to the electrode and the conductive base to deposit a solid target along conductive base.

ACCELERATOR AND PARTICLE THERAPY SYSTEM
As the ion beam is accelerated, the radii of the closed orbits gradually increase, and the centers thereof move in a direction approaching the peripheral edge portion along a predetermined radial direction of the cavity, and upon reversing the direction of movement, move further toward the center of the cavity. The intensity distribution in the orbital plane of the main magnetic field is designed to realize the foregoing feature. Thus, an accelerator is provided that is compact and that enables the energy of an extracted beam to be changed, that enhances the efficiency of beam injection into the accelerator from an external ion source, and that improves a dose rate of the resulting extracted ion beam.
