Nozzle Assembly, Device for Generating an Atmospheric Plasma Jet, Use Thereof, Method for Plasma Treatment of a Material, in Particular of a Fabric or Film, Plasma Treated Nonwoven Fabric and Use Thereof
A nozzle assembly for generating an atmospheric plasma jet includes an inlet, through which the jet can be introduced into the nozzle assembly, and a channel connected to the inlet so that the plasma jet introduced is conducted through the channel. Multiple nozzle openings are provided in the channel wall along the channel, through which a plasma jet can exit the assembly. The cross section of the channel in the region of a nozzle opening is shaped in such a way that a virtual medial plane runs between a virtual first tangent plane of the cross section through the nozzle opening and a virtual second tangent plane of the cross section opposite thereto and parallel to the first tangent plane divides the cross section into a first cross-sectional area at the nozzle opening. The cross-sectional surface of the first cross-sectional area differs from the cross-sectional surface of the second.
PLASMA GENERATING APPARATUS
Plasma generating apparatus includes a pair of electrodes configured to generate plasma by discharge, a first supply path configured to supply processing gas along an outer periphery of each of the pair of electrodes, a second supply path configured to supply processing gas between the pair of electrodes, and a suction path configured to suck the processing gas supplied along an outer peripheral surface of each of the pair of electrodes via the first supply path.
Method for making and using cold atmospheric plasma stimulated media for cancer treatment
A method for preparing cold atmospheric plasma stimulated cell culture media with a cold atmospheric plasma system having a delivery port out of which an inert gas flows. The inert gas may be helium. The method comprises the steps of placing a cell culture media in a first well, the first well having a bottom and having a diameter greater than 20 mm; wherein the cell culture media placed in the first well has a volume of 4 ml or less, treating the cell culture media in the first well with cold atmospheric plasma, wherein the treating is performed with a gap between the delivery port and the bottom of the first well is between 2.5 cm and 3.5 cm, and transferring a portion of the treated media to cultured cancer cells in a second well. The cold atmospheric plasma may be applied for 0.5 minutes to 2 minutes.
Plasma treatment of liquid surfaces
A method of decreasing a water contact angle and/or increasing a surface energy of a liquid is disclosed herein, the method comprising exposing the liquid to a plasma treatment. Further disclosed is a plasma-treated liquid exhibiting a decreased water contact angle and/or increased surface energy, compared to the water contact angle and/or surface energy, respectively, of a non-treated corresponding liquid. Methods for combining a first liquid and a second liquid, or for enhancing an adhesion between a liquid and a surface of another substance, the methods comprising exposing a liquid to plasma treatment, are further disclose herein, as well as a method of predicting an apparent contact angle of a liquid droplet on a surface of a substance.
