Treatment planning
An example method includes: receiving, from a treatment planning process, information that is based on a dose distribution for an irradiation target; and performing at least one of the following operations: moving structures to trim spots of a particle beam so that the spots of the particle beam approximate pre-trimmed spots for which characteristics are obtained based on the information received; moving structures to produce a trimming curve for a layer of an irradiation target based on a specification of a trimming curve for the layer included in the information received; moving structures to produce a single trimming curve for all radiation fields of an irradiation target based on specifications of the single trimming curve included in the information received; or moving structures based on configuration information for the structures in the information received.
Harmonic cold plasma device and associated methods
A method for generating atmospheric pressure cold plasma inside a hand-held unit discharges cold plasma with simultaneously different rf wavelengths and their harmonics. The unit includes an rf tuning network that is powered by a low-voltage power supply connected to a series of high-voltage coils and capacitors. The rf energy signal is transferred to a primary containment chamber and dispersed through an electrode plate network of various sizes and thicknesses to create multiple frequencies. Helium gas is introduced into the first primary containment chamber, where electron separation is initiated. The energized gas flows into a secondary magnetic compression chamber, where a balanced frequency network grid with capacitance creates the final electron separation, which is inverted magnetically and exits through an orifice with a nozzle. The cold plasma thus generated has been shown to be capable of accelerating a healing process in flesh wounds on animal laboratory specimens.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING ION BEAM PULSES EXTRACTION
The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and system for controlling the extraction of ion beam pulses produced by a synchrocyclotron. The synchrocyclotron comprises electrodes configured to be placed in a magnetic field. An alternating voltage is applied between the electrodes, and the frequency of the alternating voltage is modulated in a cyclic manner. In other embodiments, the method further comprises the steps of starting an acceleration cycle of the synchrocyclotron, generating a reference signal when the modulated frequency reaches a predefined value, communicating the time, at which the reference signal is generated, to the beam control elements, assessing one or more status parameters of the one or more beam control elements, and cancelling or proceeding with the extraction of the beam pulse depending on the results of the assessment.

Device for treating a surface with a plasma
A device for treating a surface with a dielectric barrier plasma, wherein the surface functions as a return electrode, having a housing (1), in which a high-voltage feed line, an electrode (8) which is connected to the high-voltage feed line, and a dielectric (9), which screens the electrode (8) with respect to the surface, are located, permits the plasma treatment of highly curved surfaces and of relatively large surface areas by virtue of the fact that the electrode (8) has the shape of a circle which is mounted in the housing (1) so as to be rotatable at least to a limited degree, and projects with a spherical section from an end-side opening (5) in the housing (1), and in that the electrode (8) is coated with the dielectric (9) in such a way that its spherical section projecting out of the housing (1) is covered by the dielectric (9) in every possible rotational position.

A facility for the production of radionuclides based photonuclear irradiation, comprising: an electron accelerator (1), producing an electron beam (2); a converter target assembly (21) with a converter target (20) that converts the electron beam (2) to Bremsstrahlung photons (15); a production target (17), irradiated by the Bremsstrahlung photons (15) and thereby producing said radionuclides.
Nozzle for a plasma generation device
A nozzle for a plasma generator having a body defining a plasma generating chamber with a gas inlet at one end and a plasma outlet at the opposite end defining the flow direction from the inlet to the outlet. An inner electrode is positioned around an inner wall of the body and an outer earthed electrode is provided around an outer wall of the body. The inner electrode and the outer electrode overlap one another in the flow direction.
Cold Plasma Treatment Devices and Associated Methods
A compact cold plasma device for generating cold plasma having temperatures in the range 65 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The compact cold plasma device has a magnet-free configuration and an induction-grid-free configuration. An additional configuration uses an induction grid in place of the input electrode to generate the cold plasma. A high voltage power supply is provided that includes a controllable switch to release energy from a capacitor bank to a dual resonance RF transformer. A controller adjusts the energy input to the capacitor bank, as well as the trigger to the controllable switch.
Sterile sealing apparatus
Systems and methods are disclosed that include an operation chamber, a plasma generator having at least one plasma head disposed within the operation chamber and in proximity to a profile formed by cutting a piece of tubing, and a mechanical motion module. The plasma generator generates a plasma treatment and applies the plasma treatment via the at least one plasma head to the profile to activate material on an end surface of the profile, within a lumen of the profile, or a combination thereof. Once the material of the profile is activated by the plasma treatment, the mechanical motion module manipulates the profile to close the lumen of the profile to aseptically seal the profile.
