Visual indicating device

An indicating device includes an enclosure and an indicating lamp. The enclosure includes a base. The base defines a receiving space and an opening communicating with the receiving space. When the indicating lamp is received in the receiving space, the base partially shields the indicating lamp allowing light from the indicating lamp to be transmitted only through the opening.

Electrical interconnects within electronic contact lenses

An electronic contact lens contains electrical components connected by an electrical interconnect. The electrical interconnect has a flat body, with electrical conductors running length-wise along the body. The flat body is oriented perpendicular rather than parallel to the inner and outer surfaces of the contact lens to reduce a visible profile of the interconnect, reducing the amount of light blocked from entering the eye. The body has a curvature shaped to conform to the curvature of the contact lens. As examples, the interconnect may be connected with an electrical component using a tab perpendicular to the flat body of the interconnect, or by forming an edge connection with electrical contacts of the component located along an edge of the component, or through one or more exposed vias formed on the component.

A transformer can include a flexible substrate having at least a first conductive layer and a dielectric layer. The transformer can further include an unbroken toroidal core of a magnetic material. The magnetic material can include material with a relative magnetic permeability greater than unity. The substrate can include a plurality of planar extensions arranged to provide respective windings encircling the core when the planar extensions are folded and attached back to another region of the substrate. Adjacent windings can be conductively isolated from each other. The flexible substrate can further include a second conductive layer separated from the first conductive layer by the dielectric layer. The first conductive layer and the second conductive layer can be coupled via a plurality of interconnects so that the respective windings are formed when the planar extensions are folded and attached back to the another region of the substrate.

Method for manufacturing a component interconnect board

There is provided a method for manufacturing a component interconnect board (150) comprising a conductor structure for providing electrical circuitry to at least one component (114) when mounted on the component board, the method comprising providing a conductor sheet (100) with a first predetermined pattern (115), providing a solder resist sheet (112) with a second predetermined pattern for defining solder areas (125) of the component board, forming a subassembly (120) by laminating the solder resist sheet on top of the conductor sheet, applying solder onto the subassembly, placing the at least one component onto the subassembly, performing soldering, and laminating the subassembly to a substrate (130). The solder resist sheet is further arranged to act as a carrier for the conductor sheet.
