PROTECTIVE HELMET WITH ATTACHMENT RING
A protective helmet adapted to receive and protect the head of a wearer includes an outer shell and an attachment ring removably secured to the outer shell, such that the attachment ring can be selectively attached to or detached and removed from the outer shell. The outer shell is shaped to protect the head of the wearer of the protective helmet and defines a bottom opening and an internal cavity for receiving the head of the wearer. The attachment ring acts as a point of attachment for, and thus secures, one or more components of the protective helmet configured to engage the head of the wearer, such that the components secured to the attachment ring are transported with the attachment ring when the attachment ring is detached and removed from the outer shell.
HELMET VENT BEZEL
A helmet may include a helmet body, a fit system, a bezel, and a hardware retainer. The helmet body may have an outer shell and an energy management layer. The bezel may be separate from the outer shell and coupled to the helmet body at the vent opening of the helmet, encircle the vent opening, and have a hardware opening extending through the bezel and an anchor opening in the bezel adjacent the hardware opening. The hardware retainer may be positioned behind and coupled to the bezel. The hardware retainer may include a hardware receiving aperture aligned with the hardware opening and a hardware retainer cover coupled to a rear side of the hardware retainer. The hardware retainer may further include an anchor recess aligned with the anchor opening. The bezel may be in-molded into the energy management layer.
Helmet
A helmet to be worn on a head having an annular headband shaped area. The headband shaped area positioned near an upper junction of the ears and the wearer's head. A top area is centered about a top of the wearer's head. A middle area defined between the headband area and the top area. The helmet includes a shell having an inner surface. A first type of subliner elements extend from the inner surface at a location such that the first type of subliner elements are aligned with the headband area. A second type of subliner elements extend from the inner surface at a location such that the second type of subliner elements are aligned with the middle area. A third type of subliner element extends from the inner surface at a location such that the third type of subliner element is aligned with the top area.
Cover system
A method and apparatus can include: providing a cover, the cover including face cover, neck cover, crown cover, side cover, and back cover; creating a cover opening in the cover above the face cover for exposure of facial features of a user from the cover; attaching a helmet cover at an attachment point near the back cover configured to expand around a helmet; and forming a helmet cover opening.
Conversion Assembly for a Hard Hat
A conversion assembly is secured to a hard hat having a protective dome cover defining a peripheral rim, and a visor. The conversion assembly includes a compartment and a plurality of electronic circuits housed within the compartment. A mechanical connector removably secures the compartment to the protective dome cover of the hard hat.
Helmet Cover Assembly Having at Least One Mounting Device
A helmet cover includes a cover configured to extend over a helmet and at least one mount attached to the cover. In one embodiment, a backing plate is coupled to the at least one mount and the cover is sandwiched between the backing plate and the at least one mount.
Helmet cover assembly having at least one mounting device
A helmet cover includes a cover configured to extend over a helmet and at least one mount attached to the cover. In one embodiment, a backing plate is coupled to the at least one mount and the cover is sandwiched between the backing plate and the at least one mount.
Waveguide based fused vision system for a helmet mounted or head worn application
A waveguide based fused vision system includes a helmet mounted or head worn sensor module and a display assembly. The display assembly includes a frame including a pair of waveguide combiners and a pair of projectors associated with waveguide combiners. The display assembly also includes a sensor module. The pair of projectors is disposed on opposite sides of a frame. The sensor module is disposed substantially above the frame and includes a first sensor, a second sensor, a video processing circuit, and a symbol generator. The video processing circuit is configured to merge first sensor information from the first sensor and first symbols from the symbol generator and to merge second symbols and the second sensor information for displaying conformally the real world scene.
Wireform attachment mechanism
A wireform attachment mechanism, or support arm, that can be used to attach an earcup to a helmet. The outer end of the support arm can be opened to release the earcup, or closed to clamp onto the earcup.
